He's clearly a heartless scumbag, yet he insists on putting on this act of being so devoted. Lu Qingyan is getting increasingly impatient with him.
"No, Ranran, it's clearly you who's changed. You didn't even say goodbye when you left last night," Qiu Chen mumbled softly, her voice weak and unconvincing.
Lu Qingyan suddenly stopped and stared at him intently. "What's wrong with me? Don't you really know?"
Lu Qingyan's eyes were devoid of affection, which made Qiu Chen somewhat flustered.
Qiu Chen thought for a moment and quickly realized the problem. Apart from this, there seemed to be no other issues between them.
Are you angry because of Qiqi?
Lu Qingyan smiled and asked in return, "What do you think?"
Qiu Chen couldn't stand Lu Qingyan's coldness towards him, which made him feel particularly uncomfortable. He frowned and said, "Ranran, don't be like this. Didn't you ask me to go with Qiqi the day before yesterday? Why are you still angry? You're being too unreasonable."
"You'd go just because I tell you to? So you'd be willing to be her boyfriend too?" Lu Qingyan said sarcastically.
Qiu Chen's expression changed. "What do you mean? How can this be the same? Ranran, I'm your boyfriend. I only see Qiqi as a younger sister."
Lu Qingyan looked to the side, ignoring him.
Qiu Chen reached out to hug her shoulder, but Lu Qingyan dodged him: "Ranran, I really only love you. Believe me. I'm only nice to her because she's your sister. Believe me."
Lu Qingyan looked into his eyes and asked solemnly, "What if she likes you?"
"Then I only like you too, don't be angry. I promise I won't talk to her anymore, okay?" Qiu Chen whispered in Lu Qingyan's ear, trying to touch her but Lu Qingyan dodged him.
"I think we should wait until you've done it first," Lu Qingyan said, pushing him away.
Seeing that Lu Qingyan still didn't appreciate what he had said, Qiu Chen got a little angry and asked, "Then what's going on between you and Chen Xuyang?"
"Whatever you think is true, is true," Lu Qingyan said calmly.
Qiu Chen knew Jiang Ranran's character and knew she wouldn't do anything to betray him, so he regretted uttering his doubts as soon as they left his mouth.
"I'm sorry, Ranran. I didn't doubt you, I was just jealous. I know you deliberately got close to him to make me angry..."
"Qiu Chen." Before Qiu Chen could finish speaking, Lu Qingyan interrupted him, shaking her head. "I know you're younger than me, but you should be more mature. I would never involve others in our private matters. Last night was Chen Xuyang's birthday. Was it wrong for me, a guest, to say a few words to the birthday boy?"
Just as Lu Qingyan finished speaking, she heard Madam Jiang calling them downstairs for dinner. Lu Qingyan glanced at him, then walked downstairs with a cold expression.
Because Qiu Chen came, Jiang's parents asked the aunt to cook a few more dishes, making dinner quite lavish, with almost the entire large square table filled.
"Hurry up and wash your hands and eat. Auntie made all your favorite dishes." Madam Jiang was unusually hospitable and invited Qiu Chen to sit down.
Lu Qingyan sat down next to Madam Jiang, and Qiu Chen also went over and sat down next to her.
Suddenly, Mrs. Jiang's phone rang. She smiled apologetically, stood up, and said, "It's Qiqi calling. I'll take it."
Mr. Jiang waved his hand and said, "Qiuchen, let's eat first. Your aunt is on the phone with Qiqi and it's going on and on. Who knows how long she'll be talking?"
