Madam Jiang immediately stood up to offer her a seat, and Jiang Qiqi sat down with satisfaction.
Lu Qingyan coldly observed Madam Jiang's attentive care for Jiang Qiqi, while Father Jiang watched the mother and daughter with a beaming smile. At this moment, Lu Qingyan felt like a guest in their home, unable to blend into their warm atmosphere.
"It's just a meal, why do you have to pick a seat here? You were setting up a Five Elements Formation back then, so particular." Lu Qingyan put down her chopsticks and looked at Jiang Qiqi with a half-smile.
"Ranran, how could you say that about your sister?" Madam Jiang glanced at Lu Qingyan reproachfully, then turned around and hugged Jiang Qiqi again, as if Lu Qingyan had gone too far and done something to Jiang Qiqi.
"Qiu Chen, you've eaten, right? You should go back now." Lu Qingyan said to Qiu Chen. Qiu Chen stood up and was about to say goodbye to Jiang's parents before leaving, but Jiang Qiqi stopped him.
"Stop! Brother Chen, you can't leave!" Jiang Qiqi domineeringly blocked her way: "Jiang Ranran, was it you who told Brother Chen to stay away from me?"
"Qiqi, what nonsense are you talking about?" Father Jiang said with a stern face.
Madam Jiang's expression also changed. What was Jiang Qiqi saying, especially in front of Qiu Chen?
Could it be that Jiang Qiqi really has those kinds of feelings for Qiu Chen? Just thinking about it made her heart skip a beat.
No way? Jiang Qiqi, she!
The more Madam Jiang thought about how Jiang Qiqi had insisted on going to the banquet with Qiu Chen, the colder her heart felt.
"I'm not lying. Brother Chen never avoided me before," Jiang Qiqi said willfully. She figured that since she and Lu Qingyan had already fallen out, she was determined to win him over.
"How dare you talk to your sister like that? It's not proper at all." Mr. Jiang hadn't yet noticed the rivalry between his two daughters. He glanced at Qiu Chen and, seeing his displeasure, didn't want Qiu Chen to see him make a fool of himself, so he reprimanded Jiang Qiqi.
However, Jiang Qiqi did not understand her father's intentions and only thought that he was scolding her because of Lu Qingyan.
She was already feeling wronged, and now she couldn't hold back any longer; her eyes immediately turned red.
"Then you all like her, fine, I'm not eating anymore." Jiang Qiqi cried and slammed down her chopsticks.
"Qiqi, what's wrong with you? Why are you talking so tactlessly?" Mr. Jiang was also annoyed.
Jiang Qiqi's face flushed red with anger: "I can't refuse to eat, you all just bully me."
Lu Qingyan smiled and said, "How did I bully you?"
"It's you! You promised to let Brother Chen accompany me, but you came again and embarrassed me. Now you're forcing Brother Chen to leave. You've gone too far!" Jiang Qiqi said indignantly.
"Then why don't you ask him what I did wrong? This isn't his home to begin with. Does he intend to stay here overnight after dinner?" Lu Qingyan shrugged.
“Keep him here, there’s room at home. It’s just that you’re wrong, you’ve always wanted to monopolize him,” Jiang Qiqi said, jumping up and down.
"So you mean it's only right that you keep him all to yourself? How about I let you have him as your boyfriend?" Lu Qingyan revealed a malicious smile.
This wasn't the first time Lu Qingyan had said this. Before, Qiu Chen could take it as Lu Qingyan joking, but this time, in front of Jiang's parents, Qiu Chen knew that Lu Qingyan was serious.
Just as Qiu Chen was about to say something, Jiang Qiqi asked Lu Qingyan with a mixture of suspicion and excitement, "Are you serious? You're willing to give Brother Chen to me?"
These naive words nearly made Mr. and Mrs. Jiang faint.
