"Qiqi, what nonsense are you talking about?" Mr. Jiang could hardly believe what he had just heard.
"I'm not lying, I'm serious!" Jiang Qiqi shouted.
"Qiqi, sit down quickly and stop fooling around. Ranran, Qiuchen, don't listen to her nonsense..." Madam Jiang said awkwardly, trying to calm Jiang Qiqi down.
Lu Qingyan calmly picked up her water glass, took a sip of the slightly cool tea, and said helplessly, "But what can we do? Qiu Chen just told me not to stick to him anymore, that he's not interested in you and doesn't want to talk to you anymore."
After Lu Qingyan finished speaking, she looked at Qiu Chen: "Qiu Chen, don't you think so?"
Lu Qingyan didn't believe that Qiu Chen would dare to say he hadn't said those things.
Jiang Qiqi looked bewildered, but quickly said angrily, "You're lying to me, that's impossible."
"Then ask him yourself." Lu Qingyan wasn't angry at all.
Qiu Chen was at his wit's end. He looked at Lu Qingyan, then at Jiang Qiqi, and then at Jiang's parents, who were also staring at him, waiting for him to speak.
He hesitated for a long time before finally saying, "Qiqi, I only see you as a younger sister. The person I like is Ranran. I can't be with you."
Lu Qingyan smiled coldly; Qiu Chen's answer was exactly what she expected.
While Jiang's parents breathed a sigh of relief, they also looked at Jiang Qiqi with anxiety.
Jiang Qiqi couldn't accept it as expected, and burst into tears in just two seconds, a speed that was truly astonishing: "I don't believe it, this is impossible, we were perfectly fine yesterday, you even kissed me yesterday, you like me."
"What?" Mr. Jiang jumped to his feet. "What exactly is going on?"
Qiu Chen's face flushed slightly. He had also drunk too much yesterday, and then Jiang Qiqi leaned close to his lips and he accidentally kissed her. This had nothing to do with him at all; it was clearly Jiang Qiqi's trick. If it were anyone else, he would have said something, but these were Jiang's parents, and Qiu Chen knew they would never side with him.
"I didn't," Qiu Chen quickly explained to Lu Qingyan. "Ranran, believe me, I didn't. I only like you."
The restaurant was filled with Jiang Qiqi's aggrieved sobs, Qiu Chen's anxious explanations, and the questions from Jiang's parents.
Jiang Qiqi clung to Qiu Chen's arm and wouldn't let go. Jiang's father questioned Qiu Chen about whether he had kissed Jiang Qiqi.
Lu Qingyan remained silent, as if their argument had nothing to do with her. Although she was the one who caused the situation, she acted like an outsider, letting them argue and make a scene.
Finally, under questioning, Qiu Chen admitted that he had kissed Jiang Qiqi, but it wasn't his initiative, and he didn't want to be with her.
This was awkward. Jiang Qiqi, for some reason, suddenly hugged Lu Qingyan, sobbing, "Sister, sister, I beg you, please give Qiu Chen to me. I really love him. If you promise me, I'll give you anything."
"You'll give me everything?" Lu Qingyan chuckled. "Then let me ask you, what do you have to give me?" Lu Qingyan looked at her coldly, as if she had been waiting for her to say these words.
Lu Qingyan sized up Jiang Qiqi as if she were looking at trash with disgust: "Jiang Qiqi, tell me, in what way do you compare to me? You're not as good as me academically, and you only got into university because your parents paid for it. You're not as good-looking as me, and you're not talented either. Besides crying and acting cute whenever something happens, what other skills do you have? Even so, your parents still favor you. Isn't that enough? You even want to steal my boyfriend. You begged me to give Qiu Chen to you, so tell me, why? Can you give me a reason?"
