Chapter 34 The Sweetness of the Farmhouse Space 2.18

Jun Han ran into a wall with Lu Qingyan, so he went to ask Tian Dali for help.

"Jade-Condensing Grass? Why are you asking about that?" Tian Dali finished working on the abacus and looked at Jun Han in surprise.

Jun Han smiled shyly: "I only heard my little sister mention it and wanted to know. But she wouldn't tell me, so I had to ask you."

Tian Dali casually said, "What's so hard about talking about it? Ningyu Grass was a medicinal herb used exclusively for brewing wine in the imperial palace hundreds of years ago. Only by using it could a wine be called a celestial brew. It is said that this herb grows on cliffs outside the capital, but nowadays very few people can find or harvest it."

Jun Han nodded: "I understand."

"Dazhu, what do you understand?" Tian Dali put down the pen he was using to keep accounts and said earnestly, "Dazhu, don't you ever think about picking any Jade-Refining Grass. It's too dangerous. Not to mention your father and mother, even your little sister will worry about you."

Jun Han neither said he would go nor that he wouldn't. He simply left silently. Tian Dali thought he had given up, but it turned out Jun Han had secretly gone alone.

When Jun Han left, it was still early. By the time he reached the outskirts of the city, the sun was high in the sky, and it was time for lunch. He took out a steamed bun from his bag, ate it, and drank a few sips of water from his canteen before continuing his climb towards the mountain peak.

It was at this moment, when the family was about to have their meal, that they realized Jun Han had long since disappeared.

Looking at the familiar empty spot, Mr. and Mrs. Tian asked, "Huh? Where's Dazhu? Why isn't he here?"

Father Tian was also puzzled: "This child is usually quite clever and never makes this old man wait for him. What's wrong with him today?"

"He...he wouldn't have gone up the mountain to look for some kind of Jade-Refining Grass, would he?" Tian Dali's face immediately turned pale.

Although this big pillar looks quite well-behaved, he's more stubborn than anyone else at heart. If my little sister really mentions the Jade Condensation Grass in front of him, he'll probably only come back if he finds it.

"What Jade-Condensing Grass? Dazhu, what do you want with it? Tell me quickly, who mentioned this to him?" Mother Tian's excited expression surprised everyone, while Father Tian's brows furrowed even more.

Father Tian sighed and took a swig of strong liquor. “Alas, I’m not afraid you two siblings will laugh at me, but our Tian family ancestors used to make imperial wine. But somehow we offended someone, which is why they’ve repeatedly targeted us and pinned unfounded accusations on us.”

"And then?" Tian Dali asked.

"Fortunately, we also have enough connections. Although those people are not high-ranking officials, they are all quite capable when it comes to getting things done."

One of the recipes for this wine contains the jade-like herb you mentioned today.

"What else do you want to hear? We'll talk about that when we get back. Finding Dazhu is the priority."

They didn't even have time to eat, and everyone used their best skills.

"Dazhu! Dazhu!" Jun Han searched every place he had been to, but they still had no news.

"Has Dazhu really gone into the mountains?" With no other choice, they had to go into the mountains as well.

This was a last resort; if they happened to run into each other inside, they could at least look after one another.

Early spring has just passed, and the mountains and fields haven't had time to change back into green; they're all gray and not very pretty.

Finding someone isn't easy, especially when everything is unclear. This makes everything even more difficult.
