During the years Lu Qingyan was in school, she basically never served as a class officer to avoid trouble. She only knew that the person who gave the orders before the teacher arrived at the beginning of each school year would invariably become the class monitor.
Standing on the podium, Lu Qingyan was unfamiliar with him, only knowing from Xiao Xin'er's memory that he was Xiao Xin'er's class monitor for that year. But Lu Qingyan's sharp eyes caught the anger on Xiao Xin'er's face.
Lu Qingyan didn't know what she was angry about either.
Zhou Jing laughed in surprise, "So it's Qi Tao! I didn't expect him to be in the same class as us. Xiao Xin, did you know that before?"
Xiao Xin frowned and said, "What do I know? When I looked at the class assignment list, I only looked at my own name and didn't pay attention to who else was there. How would I know he was here?"
“You were the only one who looked at the class assignments for the three of us. You only needed to glance at them to know that he would be here. How could you not remember?” Zhou Jing said with dissatisfaction.
Xiao Xin was also unhappy. Looking at Zhou Jing's face, which was even prettier than her own, she suppressed the jealousy in her eyes and said, "I helped you because we are friends. Why would I remember Qi Tao, an outsider?"
"Qi Tao pursued you for so long, we're practically friends, aren't we?"
“Alright, Zhou Jing,” Bai Tingyu said, trying to smooth things over. “So many people are listed on one piece of paper. Who can remember them all after reading it? If you keep asking her, aren’t you just making things difficult for her? And you’re not allowed to mention Qi Tao’s matter again.”
Zhou Jing's smile froze for a moment, and she started looking at Qi Tao in front of her again. Bai Tingyu pulled her back, saying, "They already told us to clean up, what are you standing there for?"
A blush crept onto Zhou Jing's face, and she quickly lowered her head, unnoticed by anyone.
At school, brooms are always the first thing to be snatched up when it comes to cleaning. Lu Qingyan is not tall, and her seat is close to the back door, so she managed to get a mop.
As for the rest of the people, they could only use the rags that had been torn into small pieces to wipe the tables and chairs.
Lu Qingyan was mopping the floor when someone tapped her on the shoulder from behind. When she turned around, she almost thought it was Su Meiren coming over.
This person was just as plump as Su Meiren, only with a rounder, fairer face, without those little freckles, and when he smiled, he looked almost exactly like Su Meiren.
"My name is Guo Jia. I know your name is Xiao Xin'er. Where are you from? I've never seen you before."
"Oh, I didn't study here before."
Guo Jia laughed and said, "I knew it! If you were studying here, I would definitely recognize you. With a memory as good as mine, how could I not remember people? So... what's your relationship with Xiao Xin?"
Guo Jia asked the last question cautiously, and while speaking, she crouched down and looked around, looking exactly like a spy making a rendezvous.
Lu Qingyan stepped back and said while working, "It was only the first day I met her too."
"Your names are really similar. I thought you were sisters at first glance. Thank goodness you're not, thank goodness you're not." Guo Jia breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest with a look of relief.
Lu Qingyan knew there must be something going on, so she moved closer to her and asked, "Do you know something?"
Guo Jia did know something, but she shook her head and refused, saying, "I won't talk to you about it now. We can talk while we eat tonight. Otherwise, it wouldn't be good if someone heard us in this small classroom."
