Lu Qingyan understood immediately; it seemed the male lead was about to regain his memories. Thinking this, she narrowed her eyes, staring at the system that had become a phantom beside her: "Could it be that this is the opportunity for the male lead to regain his memories, which is why you didn't help me when I asked you?"
The system meowed and disappeared.
Lu Qingyan sneered: Hmph, you actually dared to run away? Then I'll deduct three months' worth of your dried fish!
When it was broad daylight the next day, Jun Han finally woke up slowly. The naivety and timidity of the past had faded from his eyes, which were now sharp as a newly drawn sword as he looked around the familiar yet unfamiliar room.
When Xiaoman came in with the medicine after finishing her work, this was the scene she saw.
Jun Han was a martial artist with excellent hearing. He noticed Xiao Man as soon as she entered. His sharp gaze fell on Xiao Man, making her tremble: "Brother Da Zhu, your medicine is ready."
Thinking of the somewhat silly name that had been accompanying him all these days, Jun Han's face darkened.
If this family were truly illiterate, then giving themselves such a name would be understandable. But the truth is quite different. Tian Dali and Tian Xiaomei are both highly educated, especially Tian Xiaomei, who gave herself this name; her talent is outstanding among women. It's as if she's playing a trick on herself by choosing this name.
But when he thought of Tian Xiaomei, he didn't seem too angry. Perhaps she just felt the name didn't suit her heroic image.
"Where is Miss?" Jun Han asked, taking the medicine Xiao Man handed him and drinking it all in one gulp.
"The owner is still busy in the wine cellar."
As soon as Xiaoman said this, Junhan thought of the Jade-Condensing Grass that he had gone through so much trouble to find for Lu Qingyan.
He never imagined he would go to such lengths for a woman, even risking his own life. He still thought he would dedicate his life to this country and its people.
He recalled the news of Cheng Mu's rebellion that he had heard some time before his amnesia. If he still didn't understand who had framed him by now, then he was probably a general for nothing. Now, it was time to avenge the country and himself.
"Xiaoman, go get me some paper and pen."
Xiaoman was quick, bringing the paper over in less than an incense stick's time. Junhan spread the paper out, picked up a wolf-hair brush, and wrote a few words. He didn't reveal his name or address, nor did he explain the cause of his injury. He simply told Lu Qingyan that he had regained his memory, had matters to attend to at home, and would take his leave now, promising to visit her another day to express his gratitude.
Junhan blew the paper he had written on dry and handed it to Xiaoman: "When the boss comes back, give the letter to her."
"Brother Dazhu, where are you going?" Xiaoman reached out to stop him: "Your injuries haven't healed yet, why are you running around instead of lying down?"
"I've written everything I need to say in the letter. Just give it to your boss. I really have urgent business to attend to and must leave." Xiaoman was a bit stronger, but he was no match for Junhan, who had become a general. He could only watch helplessly as Junhan left Tian Family Restaurant, clutching the letter tightly in his hand.
He scratched his head, puzzled. "The wine cellar is a bit far from the restaurant, but it's only a half-hour walk. Besides, there are horses kept there. Why do you have to write it in a letter?"
Meanwhile, Jun Han gazed at the towering palace, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
