When Su Meiren entered the dormitory building, the black vengeful spirit was still there, floating in mid-air as if it had no destination.
Xi Bo glanced at it and then chased after it. He knew it was just an illusion; the vengeful spirit was clearly being controlled by someone.
The faint yellow talisman was not easily noticeable unless you looked closely.
Xi Bo channeled his spiritual energy to his fingertips and slashed at the vengeful spirit, instantly causing it to dissipate between heaven and earth.
Just as Xi Bo finished making his move, he heard a familiar voice from the side: "You're really in the way, you're here too."
He turned around and saw that it was indeed the strange Taoist priest he had met at Fenglin Mountain.
Xi Bo gathered more and more spiritual energy in his hands. He looked at the kind-looking person in front of him who was covered in black energy and said, "I knew you weren't a good person. I didn't expect you to be hiding here manipulating vengeful spirits to harm people."
"No, no, no, you can't say that." The strange Taoist shook his head. "You're really accusing me of something. When did I ever harm them? I just wanted to borrow something from them. When the time is right, I will definitely return it to them. I have no intention of taking anyone's life."
This sounds like a lie. If Xi Bo could believe such a clumsy lie, then he wouldn't need to stay inside the gate.
“Those who cultivate themselves often know a little about physiognomy. You speak so sweetly, do you think I can’t see how much karma you’ve accumulated?” Xi Bo rushed out, his hands transforming into blades of light as he slashed at the strange Taoist priest: “This time you won’t escape.”
"Heh, since I can't reason with you, I'll take my leave. Young man, I'm not in the mood for a fight right now. I want to see just how good you really are. I underestimated you last time. This time, I'll see how many people you can save from me."
The eccentric Taoist priest chuckled and disappeared from Xi Bo's sight once again.
Xi Bo clenched his fist, suppressing the anger in his eyes.
He had always thought he was very powerful, and his master had said so too. But now he realized that the enemy had escaped right before his eyes, and he didn't know where to chase after them.
"Xin'er, I want to have the power to protect you. This time, I will definitely not lose."
Xi Bo secretly made up his mind that he should go back and draw a few more talismans, as they would always come in handy.
Back in her dorm, Su Meiren was first frightened by a female ghost, then encountered the handsome Xi Bo. She didn't get a good rest after returning to her dorm and had a dream all night.
First, she dreamt that the female ghost was chasing her, and although she ran very fast, she couldn't outrun her. Finally, she didn't know where she ended up, but the female ghost suddenly multiplied into many, circling around her. Then she dreamt that Xi Bo suddenly appeared, holding a gleaming golden sword, and slew the female ghost. Finally, she dreamt that Xi Bo proposed to her, but during the wedding, her face turned into the female ghost's.
Then she was startled awake.
Su Meiren rubbed her head in distress: "What kind of nonsense are these dreams? I'm perfectly fine now."
"Oh right, I don't have class today, I'll go find Xiaoxin'er first." With that thought, Su Meiren finished her makeup and went to find Lu Qingyan.
She enthusiastically shared her experience from the previous night with Lu Qingyan.
