Chapter 44 Not Connecting the Doomed Couple 3.2

Children who don't know any better often hurt others unintentionally.

Wei Nana repeatedly visited the Zhao family under the pretext of visiting Zhao Xinyi, but Zhao Linchuan still refused to forgive her.

In desperation, she went to beg her mother to intercede on her behalf.

Despite her advanced age, Mrs. Wei still had to worry about her daughter's affairs. With her head full of white hair, she came to the Zhao family, and Zhao Linchuan naturally had to treat her well. He couldn't possibly turn away his daughter's maternal grandmother.

She used the mother-daughter bond between Zhao Xinyi and Wei Nana as leverage, and almost knelt down before Zhao Linchuan. Zhao Xinyi kept shouting, "I want my mother!" How could Zhao Linchuan really let the old woman kneel down for him? He also cared about his daughter, so even though he and Wei Nana no longer had feelings for each other, he still agreed to remarry her.

But she and Wei Nana can never go back to what they used to be.

After remarrying, Wei Nana became much more restrained. She behaved very properly every day and showed more care for Zhao Xinyi and Zhao Linchuan.

Life went on uneventfully. As she grew older, she came to understand her father's difficulties, and her relationship with her mother gradually faded.

Nearly twenty years later, Zhao Xinyi had grown up and had a boyfriend. Her boyfriend came from a well-off family, and his aunt was kind and gentle. The two families soon met.

What she never expected was that her mother would make another mistake and get involved with her boyfriend's father.

She was shocked to learn of this, and it reminded her of how she had tried to reconcile with her parents years ago.

I was wrong, I was wrong! I shouldn't have been coaxed by my mother into begging my father, and I shouldn't have let them continue this ill-fated relationship.

Now my father is old, his hair is gray. Even though his relationship with my mother has faded, how could he not be angry if he heard about this?

Because of years of hard work, her father's heart is not good. What should she do if he gets a shock and something happens to him?

And what about your aunt? She's such a gentle person. If she knew all this, how would she see herself?

She wanted to tell her boyfriend the truth, but didn't know how; she wanted to keep it a secret, but couldn't. Finally, the day came when the truth came out. Her father was so upset that he fell seriously ill and was hospitalized, and her relationship with her lover ended.

Zhao Xinyi was heartbroken. After caring for her father until his death, she lived out her days alone.

"Beep—Mission issued: Prevent Zhao Linchuan and Wei Nana from remarrying and have a perfect love. I already owe him, and even if I had another chance, I shouldn't get entangled with him anymore."

Lu Qingyan silently remarked, "The reason the male lead gave for abdicating is so refreshingly unique."

"Gurgle gurgle~" Lu Qingyan's stomach growled uncontrollably.

Her timing was perfect: Zhao Xinyi was arguing with her father because she had lost her mother, and Wei Nana had not yet divorced the man surnamed Liu, nor had she come to the Zhao family to bother them again.

Lu Qingyan rubbed her rumbling stomach and chuckled. "Little kids," she thought, "always using tantrums to avoid eating. Aren't they just starving themselves?"

Lu Qingyan got out of bed, slipped into the kitchen, grabbed a steamed bun, and ate it along with the dishes Zhao Linchuan had cooked.

Given Zhao's father's skill level, the dish was nothing more than stir-fried scallions and eggs. The food had been cold for a long time, and Lu Qingyan was too hungry to wait any longer to reheat it.

The steamed buns were bought from outside, and the scrambled eggs in the stir-fry were huge, extremely salty, and had a hard, gritty shell inside when you bit into them!

Lu Qingyan was on the verge of tears. Zhao's father's cooking was indeed a culinary disaster. She missed the master-level cooking skills of Tian's father in the last world.

There was nothing she could do but eat steamed buns.

She was eating her second one when a voice came softly from behind her: "Xinyi!"
