The whistling sound seemed both very close and very far away.
Lu Qingyan reached up and tucked the stray hairs from her forehead behind her ear: "This wind is really weird. It wasn't this strong outside when we came in."
Although the sky outside was overcast, the trees were still green. Inside, however, a fierce wind was blowing, the leaves were withered and yellow, and every brick and tile looked much paler than outside.
Bai Su walked cautiously, then snorted and said, "Do you need to tell me? Of course I know there's something strange about this place." After saying that, Bai Su stopped walking.
"What's wrong?" Lu Qingyan asked him softly, but didn't come in his direction.
"I think I stepped on something." Bai Su looked down at his feet, but couldn't see anything because his view was blocked.
"Youyan, come here and help me take a look at what this thing is."
Lu Qingyan walked towards him, and as soon as she placed her hand on the ground, she noticed a thick black fog appearing on the ground.
"What is this?" Lu Qingyan was about to dodge when she was sucked into the thick fog, along with Bai Su. A series of screams, "Ah, ah—," echoed from the black vortex.
When Lu Qingyan woke up again, the world before her eyes was completely dark. If it weren't for the dazzling gold of the magic wand in her hand, Lu Qingyan could hardly see anything.
"Bai Su, Bai Su?" Lu Qingyan called out several times in circles, but no one answered.
Suddenly, clusters of flames appeared on the wall, burning fiercely in the grooves, providing a faint light like lamps.
Lu Qingyan then saw clearly that the surroundings were made of blue stones, and the walls were painted with many ferocious, unidentified wild beasts, which looked particularly grotesque and terrifying in the firelight. This seemed to be a large hall, with many passageways extending outwards, and no one knew what they would encounter if they followed any of those paths.
Lu Qingyan muttered to herself, "Where...where exactly is this place?"
[Su Han, do you know where this is?]
Su Han remained silent.
【Su Han, Su Han?!】Lu Qingyan called out anxiously a few times, but still did not hear a response.
Therefore, Lu Qingyan no longer expected Su Han to give her an answer.
The magic wand twirled in her hand, transforming into a bright lamp which she held aloft. Lu Qingyan chose a path and walked along it.
The mysterious voice appeared again. She teased Lu Qingyan, "I was only ignoring you for a little while, and you actually managed to find your way here."
"Where is this place?" Lu Qingyan looked around but still couldn't find anyone.
"Hehehe," she laughed, "You've come all this way, and you still don't know where this place is? Well, let me tell you, this is the place where your hopes are buried. You're not the first to find this place; they came too. It's just that they were unlucky enough to die. What will you do then?"
"Did you kill them?" Lu Qingyan asked. This voice had been bewitching her, but she didn't know if the voice was capable of doing it herself, or even if she would.
"Didn't I tell you? How could I possibly kill someone?" The voice chuckled, probably because the scene I showed them was too wonderful for them to resist.
"Ah—!" She had only spoken halfway when her voice seemed to encounter something that frightened her, and she screamed and disappeared.
