In fact, the swing didn't move, and Bai Su's gaze didn't fall on any particular spot.
His eyes, which had once been brimming with light, were now utterly empty, making him look like a puppet, even though he was still a living person.
"Bai Su." Lu Qingyan called out, but Bai Su couldn't hear her at all. He remained motionless, unchanged.
Looking up, she saw a clear blue sky, white clouds, and green trees and grass. It was a beautiful scene, far more wonderful than the gray and gloomy landscape she was used to seeing. But looking into Bai Su's eyes, she couldn't help but feel a sense of sorrow.
"Bai Su, I don't know what you've encountered, but none of this is real. You're just dreaming. Wake up!" Lu Qingyan reached out to grab Bai Su, but found herself passing right through his body.
It seems that Bai Su is real here, while I have no physical form.
Bai Su finally looked up at Lu Qingyan, as if he could really see her. He curled the corners of his mouth at Bai Su and gave a strange smile: "It's a ghost."
The voice seemed to carry a kind of beautiful anticipation, as if something wonderful that had been longed for for a long time had finally appeared before one's eyes.
But what does it mean to associate this kind of expectation with ghosts? What normal child would like to hope to encounter a ghost?
Pshaw, she's not a ghost.
Bai Su hugged the doll tightly and walked towards Lu Qingyan. He smiled brightly at Lu Qingyan and said, "Is my life about to end? Then please take me away quickly, okay?"
"Bai Su, stop talking nonsense. Wake up! What's wrong with you?" Lu Qingyan reached out again to shake him awake, but her hand passed right through him.
"If you make me like you, you can catch me, right?" Bai Su raised his lifeless eyes and looked at Lu Qingyan: "Why don't you make a move?"
"Bai Su, you're still alive, and I'm not a ghost. As long as you wake up, we can get out of here and leave this world."
Bai Su turned around, muttered, "You lied to me!" Then, with her head down, she left the garden without looking back.
Lu Qingyan was afraid that something might happen to him, so she stayed close behind him and watched him leave the garden and enter the house not far away.
Even from the outside, you could tell that the house was huge, with a medieval castle feel to it. He was like a demon with its gaping maw, swallowing Bai Su whole.
"Bai Su, don't go in!" Lu Qingyan shouted anxiously, sensing that everything inside might be the source of Bai Su's fear.
But Bai Su wouldn't listen.
He seems to remember nothing about his past, nothing about magic. He only remembers everything about his time in this world, which may be an illusion, or it may be the true past.
After Lu Qingyan followed him inside, she realized there was someone else there, a slightly overweight man.
His real age is hard to tell; the fine lines at the corners of his eyes seem to be proving something, or perhaps refuting something.
He watched Bai Su enter and smiled smugly, "Looks like you've been very obedient today, returning so quickly. My little princess."
The man held Bai Su tightly, taking a deep breath as he hugged her neck. "I knew my little princess was the cutest and most obedient child."
Seeing this scene, Lu Qingyan almost threw up her dinner from the night before.
