Looking into Lu Qingyan's gentle eyes, Bai Su curled the corners of his lips and said with a sarcastic bitter smile, "Youyan, are you so soft-hearted because of just a few tears?"
"Bai Su!" Lu Qingyan looked at him. "Can't you just say less? If he doesn't want to talk, then he doesn't have to. We won't ask anything. What's wrong with just keeping him by our side?"
"Do you think this is a good thing?" Bai Su sneered. "I don't want to save someone who could harm me at any time. Only you are so foolish as to believe everything."
"Bai Su, why are you so nervous? I know he's a good person and wouldn't harm us."
"You know, you believe, but what guarantees do you have?"
What are you going to say? Are you suggesting they've been husband and wife for several lifetimes? No one would believe that; they'd just think you're crazy.
Bai Su looked at the flickering lights in the distance and took a deep breath: "You still won't listen to what I say. Since you want to take it, then take it!"
As Bai Su spoke, he glared fiercely at Yayoi, who was hiding behind Lu Qingyan.
Yayoi stuck her tongue out at him with a giggle, then obediently stood behind Lu Qingyan again, so quickly that Lu Qingyan didn't notice anything amiss.
Lu Qingyan held Yayoi's hand and asked him, "How were you arrested? Who are they? Why did they arrest you?"
“I don’t know who they are.” Yayoi shook her head. “I don’t know why they arrested me. I remember I was walking down the street that day when someone suddenly hit me on the back with a stick, and when I woke up I was here.”
I didn't know who they were, or what they wanted to do. But from that day on, they fed me lots of awful food every day, and then they used a lot of syringes to prick me and draw my blood. While they were busy, I secretly memorized a lot of formulas, but I didn't know what they were for.
Lu Qingyan reached out and touched his face.
Yayoi looked up and smiled, "Don't be sad, sister. I'm fine now. I know what they wrote. Do you want me to write it down for you to see?"
Yayoi blinked her big eyes and asked.
Lu Qingyan nodded: "Okay, then write it down and let me see it!" She was also very curious about what those people had written.
As Yayoi wrote it down bit by bit, Lu Qingyan also became heavy-hearted. Because this was not a formula at all, but a string of incantations.

But... is that really the reason? Lu Qingyan still couldn't believe that a single book could possess such power. And who was that voice that had been tempting her all along?
Bai Su snorted coldly: "You've been experimented on so many times and you're still alive. You're a bit thin, but you look pretty healthy. Yayoi, I have to say, you're really tough. You didn't die after all that."
