Lu Qingyan smiled and said, "I only met Mr. Ji once, but I guessed that you must be familiar with him. You two really do look alike. If you didn't say so, people would think you were brothers."
Lu Qingyan was quite close to Ji Feng and easily caught a faint fishy smell. She couldn't help but wonder: Could it be that it smelled like this after floating on the water for so long?
Ji Feng was unaware of what Lu Qingyan was thinking. When he heard Lu Qingyan say this, he laughed heartily: "Princess, you have a good eye. By all accounts, A Xing and I are indeed cousins, but the relationship is quite distant, so we don't mention it easily."
As Ji Feng spoke, he gestured for her to stay: "Princess, this way please. After receiving A Xing's letter, I prepared a rather large room on the ship. Please stay here for the next few days!"
Lu Qingyan followed him over, and after opening the door, she froze there.
The furnishings in the room were all in different shades of blue. Several delicate dishes were laid out on the pear wood carved table, which were mostly vegetarian. So Lu Qingyan immediately noticed the braised fish.
This is exactly to my liking.
The room was brightly lit by candlelight, and Lu Qingyan finally got a clear look at Ji Feng.
His eyebrows and eyes did indeed bear a resemblance to Sima Xing's, but he was far less alluring. The similarity in features didn't make him appear as refined, but it didn't seem contradictory either; rather, it grew more and more pleasing to the eye over time.
"It's not too late yet. Why don't you eat something first and rest a little longer?" Ji Feng said before leaving.
Lu Qingyan sat down and added a piece of fish with her chopsticks, surprised to find that there wasn't a single bone in the meat; clearly, someone had already removed them. The meat was fresh and not greasy, with a slightly numbing and spicy flavor, and even when it cooled slightly, the fishy smell was barely noticeable.
Lu Qingyan couldn't help but admire, even the chefs in the palace were probably only this good.
Recalling the faint fishy smell on Ji Feng, Lu Qingyan couldn't help but chuckle: He really is a capable person!
Even though the incense masked the faint fishy smell on Ji Feng, it was still detectable, so it seemed that he was probably the one who made the fish.
Judging by the time, he must have come to find me after he finished cooking.
Lu Qingyan never imagined that a man living a life of luxury could have such culinary skills. Shen Jiyan and Sima Xing could only grill a little meat at most, far inferior to Ji Feng.
Before she knew it, it was already 9 PM, and Lu Qingyan walked onto the deck. The fleet had clearly slowed down at night, almost as if it were still on the water. If it weren't for the receding reflections, Lu Qingyan would have thought the ships had truly stopped.
On the deck, Ji Feng sat at the bow of the boat, holding a fishing rod in his hand, with a glass plate half-filled with fish food beside him.
"The princess has arrived." Ji Feng knew who it was without even looking up.
He laughed loudly, "The princess has arrived at just the right time. I just caught a big fish, so it seems today is destined to be a bountiful day."
“Mr. Ji.” Lu Qingyan sat down as well, dangling her legs over the edge of the boat. Looking down at the gurgling water, she realized it was indeed a good time for fishing.
Ji Feng sighed and shook his head, saying, "Fish often can't distinguish between bait and food. As long as you give them something, they'll swallow it whole."
Lu Qingyan smiled and interjected, "So many things in this world depend on luck. Sometimes you get the benefits, and sometimes you're doomed."
