Chapter 73 Monk, Shall We Catch Demons? 4.20

Bai Zhenzhen was quite capable; she hid with Xu Xian, making it difficult for others to find them for a while.

But who is the Holy Mother of Lishan? She is Bai Zhenzhen's master, so how could she not have found a way to help Bai Zhenzhen? With a little magic, a silver-white ribbon circled the three of them a few times and began to lead them to a place.

A flash of golden light, and they finally stopped in a valley. The valley was beautiful; the peach blossoms on the stream banks seemed never to fade, petal after petal falling, yet the number on the trees remained unchanged. The calls of kingfishers echoed on both banks, their reflections shimmering in the water. At their feet, pale purple stars were scattered among the green bushes, veiled in mystery by the sunlight, appearing and disappearing intermittently.

At the end of the road was a wooden house, which was large and cozy.

Xu Xian, however, looked much thinner inside, and a shadow seemed to have fallen over his once bright and spirited eyes. He was lost in his own world, unable to hear, see, think, or speak, lacking his former high spirits. Even when he heard the door open, he remained stunned and unresponsive.

“Amitabha, Benefactor Xu,” Fahai called out from the side.

Perhaps hearing a familiar voice, his dazed eyes finally reacted. His eyes rolled around a couple of times, then instantly filled with joy: "Master Fahai, is that you? Did you come to save me?"

With a look of compassion in his clear and bright eyes, Fahai said, "Amitabha, Benefactor Xu, you have suffered."

A day in heaven is a year on earth; three days in the Emei fairyland is equivalent to more than two years in the mortal world.

Given Xu Xian's character and abilities, it's not easy for him to have survived these two years.

The Holy Mother of Lishan spoke with great displeasure: "You are Xu Xian?" In her eyes, she was still angry with this man. Before meeting Xu Xian, Bai Zhenzhen was a bit mischievous but still had a heart that yearned for Taoism. But after meeting Xu Xian, she was even capable of betraying her master and ancestors. Such a man is truly a source of trouble.

If it were Xu Xian two years ago, he might have said, "I am Xu Xian. May I ask what business this young lady has with me?" But now, having endured much torment, he simply stared blankly at the scene before him and uttered, "I am Xu Xian."

"Husband!" A cry of surprise came from not far away, and the newcomer hugged Xu Xian tightly. Bai Zhenzhen looked at Lu Qingyan with slightly red eyes: "Xiao Qing, what are you doing here? What do you want to do to my husband? I will not allow it."

"Oh, what can we do to you? You are the prized disciple of the Holy Mother of Lishan. Which monster in the outside world would dare to disrespect you?" the Holy Mother of Lishan sneered, unsure of how many times Bai Zhenzhen had used her reputation for publicity.

What a good apprentice! How dare he smear me like this outside, just randomly impersonating someone else to represent me.

"Master?" Bai Zhenzhen stared wide-eyed at the suddenly appearing Holy Mother of Lishan in disbelief. She could still talk nonsense when her master wasn't around, but she couldn't say a word when she was actually facing her master.

"Bai Zhenzhen, you certainly have some clever methods," the Holy Mother of Lishan said, narrowing her eyes.

Bai Zhenzhen immediately knelt on the ground: "I'm sorry, Master. It's all my fault. I will definitely correct my mistakes in the future and will never bring shame to our sect again."

"Too late!" Bai Zhenzhen, what do you take me for, your master? I've given you countless chances, but you didn't cherish them. The Holy Mother of Lishan was filled with remorse at this moment.
