Lu Qingyan persevered, not daring to relax even for a moment.
"Hey, isn't this Third Brother?" A nonchalant voice rang out, and Lu Qingyan felt a surge of annoyance.
Lu Qingyan didn't say anything. She knew she couldn't compare to this person. Who told her to be so arrogant, kneeling before him?
The title "Third Brother" felt like a sharp sword stabbing at her. She was a girl, not a guy! Had something unexpected happened this time?
The snobbish voice was still ringing in his ears. He said to himself, "Third Brother, you have to see reality. Don't think that just because I call you Third Brother, you're really acting like an older brother or a prince. Someone like you isn't even worthy of carrying shoes for those old men. You still have the nerve to call yourself my brother? Pshaw, do you think you're the eldest brother?"
The voice wasn't particularly unpleasant; in fact, it could even be described as pleasant. Yet, the words that came out of his mouth were incredibly vicious.
"Third Brother, consider this a warning. If there's a next time, I'll make sure you're famous throughout the land." He spoke respectfully, but his tone was full of malice.
Lu Qingyan knew, of course, that this so-called fame was definitely not a good one.
As he spoke, he walked past Lu Qingyan and went inside, only then did Lu Qingyan see his back clearly.
He was an extremely young gentleman, dressed in fine clothes and wearing a hat with tassels, looking very respectable.
A short while later, a man came out. He had been bowing, but straightened up when he reached Lu Qingyan. He said, "By imperial decree, the Third Prince has shown disrespect to his elder brother and dislike to his younger brother. He is to go back and reflect on his actions in seclusion. He should copy more scriptures to pray for the Empress Dowager. Since the Third Prince is unwilling to stay in the Imperial Study, he need not go there anymore."
After saying that, he flicked the whisk in his hand, drooped his eyelids, and left.
"Third Prince!" As soon as the man left, Lu Qingyan felt someone support her.
He seemed very nervous about himself, and choked up as he said, "Third Prince, Fifth Prince is really going too far. You didn't bother him, but he just had to make things difficult for you. This palace is full of people who fawn over the powerful and bully the weak. If the Imperial Concubine were still here, how could she tolerate them bullying you?"
Lu Qingyan spoke weakly, "Be careful what you say."
The little eunuch immediately fell silent.
He knew that the palace was the place where secrets could not be kept. If his words were to get out, wouldn't the Third Prince be in trouble again... Thinking of this, he couldn't help but shudder.
"It's all my fault. I'll remember this and never speak carelessly again." The little eunuch looked thin and weak, but he was quite strong. He carried Lu Qingyan on his back and walked towards the back of the palace.
They encountered many people along the way, and those who saw them like this would whisper among themselves.
Lu Qingyan didn't bother with these people and only wanted to get to her territory as soon as possible.
After walking for about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, Lu Qingyan finally saw a dilapidated courtyard.
Yes, this place is truly dilapidated, like a deserted temple in the mountains that has never been inhabited. It's hard to imagine that such a place exists within such a magnificent palace.
Seeing Lu Qingyan in a daze, the young eunuch said remorsefully, "My lady, it's all my fault. I haven't had time to clean this place yet. I'll go right now."
"No need," Lu Qingyan waved her hand.
