Eileen was pampered growing up, and Qiao Li never expected that such a little girl would know so much.
Eileen puffed out her cheeks and huffed, "Joe, you're lying. Mom and Dad both praised Eileen for being sensible and growing up. Eileen isn't little at all now."
"Didn't you say you were going to take me to the old castle in the countryside? How am I supposed to get there?" Qiao Li awkwardly changed the subject.
"Oh right, how should I get Joe to go?" Eileen wondered. She looked around and found a large teddy bear. Pointing to it, she said, "Joe, you can hide in this. I used to hide in this when I played."
I don't know where the little guy bought such a big toy. Qiao Li isn't very tall, so it fits perfectly inside.
Eileen was overjoyed to see that Qiao Li was well hidden. However, it was already quite late, so she yawned and fell asleep.
The next day, Eileen indeed overslept.
"Honey, didn't we say we had something to do today? How could you sleep in?" Eileen's mother came over and hugged Eileen.
Eileen glanced at the teddy bear containing Qiao Li and said, "Mom, I just wanted to take him with me, so I went to find him in the middle of the night."
“It’s Big Bear,” Eileen’s mother said knowingly. “It’s a birthday present from your father. Eileen, why did you suddenly decide to bring him along?”
"Well, Eileen was thinking of saving the best for the adults, which is why she sent Big Bear to keep him company. Mom, don't worry, we can bring him back next time we go."
“Okay, honey.” Eileen’s mother relented, but looking at the puppet, she decided to get a bigger car instead.
Eileen was very happy, even when she arrived at the castle.
"Alright, Eileen." After arriving here, Eileen's father did not intend to let her go inside.
He simply had the large bear puppet moved inside, and he himself just stood outside and bowed deeply.
Eileen was very unhappy: "Dad, why can't we live here? This place is much nicer than that house. I'm already sad that we don't live here, why won't you let me go in and have a look?"
She even told Joe how beautiful her family's castle was, but in reality, she had never been inside it.
"Eileen, Dad knows you're the most sensible and good child, so please don't ask about these things anymore, okay? The reason we can't go in is a family rule, and even Dad can't break it."
"So Dad didn't go in to check either? Then I'll forgive you." Eileen huffed arrogantly and left.
They picnicked near a creek by the castle and left as the sun was setting.
Eileen sat in the car and glanced back at the castle, silently saying goodbye in her heart: "Goodbye, Joe."
Inside the castle, Qiao Li waited for a long time, until he felt that there was no sound around him, before he came out of the puppet.
Despite not having eaten for several days, Qiao Li didn't feel particularly hungry. She just looked somewhat haggard, and her clothes smelled of dust.
He tried to walk a few steps inside and suddenly saw a vast sea of flowers, with roses as red as blood, as if they had been stained with blood.
Apart from these vibrant roses and lush green grass, there wasn't a single other plant here.
