Lu Qingyan followed him step by step and heard a familiar voice.
Grandpa Zhu was furious inside: "How many times have I told you to find him as soon as possible? Look how much time has passed and we haven't received a single piece of news! What are you all doing?!"
She seemed to be on the phone, and after the person on the other end said something, Grandpa Zhu seemed a little calmer: "I'm just worried about that girl."
"Grandpa." Lu Qingyan walked over with tears in her eyes. Looking at the old man's familiar face, she saw that he was thinner than she remembered.
"Ran, Xiao Ran!" Grandpa Zhu was shocked. He hadn't expected his granddaughter to be back. He choked up and hugged her tightly, murmuring over and over again, "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back."
After a while, his excitement subsided somewhat, and he noticed there was another person outside the door. He looked closely and asked, "Are you—Qingbai from the Pan family?"
Pan Qingbai responded, "Grandpa Zhu, it's been a long time."
"Yes, you're quite the busy man. If it weren't for the fact that you and your grandfather looked somewhat alike when they were young, I wouldn't have recognized you." As if remembering something, Grandpa Zhu asked, "Did you bring Xiao Ran back?"
"If we meet them on the road, we can't just ignore them."
Old Master Zhu immediately told them to get lost: "Now that the person has been brought back, you can go and get back to work."
"Grandpa Zhu, I have something to discuss with you, it's about Xiao Ran." Pan Qingbai added, afraid that Grandpa Zhu wouldn't agree.
Grandpa Zhu said, "Now that everyone's back, what could possibly be wrong? You've been gone for so long, your family must miss you. Go back and talk to them more. You don't need to stay here with this old man."
Seeing that Grandpa Zhu was so unyielding, Lu Qingyan also advised, "Grandpa, Brother Pan did bring me home, so we can't just not give him a drink of water."
Grandpa Zhu's eyes widened: "These days, even a drop of water is incredibly expensive. Our family is broke right now, so you'd better be careful."
Lu Qingyan chuckled, picked up three cups, shook them, and they were filled with water. One cup for Grandpa Zhu, one for Pan Qingbai, and one for herself.
Old Master Zhu's pupils contracted, and he subconsciously glanced at Pan Qingbai: "Young Pan, is this what you wanted to tell me?"
Pan Qingbai nodded: "Grandpa Zhu, you can see it now. Xiao Ran has her own power and is no longer an ordinary person. You can't keep her in this room forever."
"Xiao Ran, what are you thinking?" Grandpa Zhu asked Lu Qingyan first, wanting to know what his granddaughter was really thinking.
