"Mr. Luo, please." Zhu Jun made way for Mr. Luo to sit down.
Mr. Luo waved his hand to the back, saying, "You should all go back quickly. It's not too far from the Southern Base. Going back sooner will reduce the danger. With them by my side, I should be fine."
Some people said goodbye reluctantly, but Mr. Luo still got into Lu Qingyan's group's car.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Luo, you'll probably have to come with us somewhere else," Lu Qingyan said with a smile from inside the car.
"Oh, where are you going?" Mr. Luo asked, not at all alarmed.
"Mr. Luo, aren't you afraid?" Lu Qingyan asked with interest.
Mr. Luo said, "I'm not afraid. As long as they are people, they must want something from me. So my life will not be threatened. In that case, what is there to be afraid of?"
"Mr. Luo seems to have a very open mind."
"I'm all alone, so I have nothing to be afraid of."
Indeed. Even when this person was screaming for help, he wasn't particularly disheveled.
“Mr. Luo, I do have a request for you. You went to the capital base this time to develop a new drug with Sun Yue, right?”
Mr. Luo nodded: "Of course, that's common knowledge."
"But that Sun Yue isn't Sun Yue at all; it's Dr. Mo. Everyone thought he died in the basement, but in fact, it wasn't him who died; it was the real Sun Yue. He's not human either; he's a very high-level zombie. So we came to see Mr. Luo this time hoping that you could quickly develop a drug that can restore zombies to human form."
Mr. Luo laughed and said, "You think too highly of me. I could never do that."
He knows his own limitations; at the very least, he has no way of developing that kind of medicine in a short period of time.
Moreover, he didn't bring anything with him. How could a young scholar like him, who doesn't even have any tools, possibly take on this job?
“I know a place where everything is definitely complete,” Lu Qingyan said. “It’s the basement we found before.”
Lu Qingyan would never let him go to the capital base. Only by developing the special drug first and restoring the world to normal can everyone's lives be saved.
Lu Qingyan didn't believe that there would be many, many humans in the base under zombie rule. Who knew if they were planning to infect all humans with the virus, turning them into the same kind of beings as them, and making them obey their commands?
The girl who came out of the research institute was named Zhou Ya. She volunteered to go to Mr. Luo's side: "I can lend you a hand when the time comes."
"It's alright, I'll be doing research wherever I go. Just remember to feed me something good." Mr. Luo wasn't angry at all.
He was a typical research fanatic, but not as ruthless as Dr. Mo. He was optimistic and cheerful, and his biggest flaw was that he was a bit gluttonous, but with people like them around, he could definitely satisfy his cravings.
It's very close to Zhu Ran's former university; it only takes half an hour to drive there, and we didn't encounter any clueless zombies along the way.
Returning to the familiar basement, Lu Qingyan felt a sense of loss, as if everything had changed. Zhou Ya, however, trembled in Zhang Bao's arms. Zhang Bao patted her shoulder and whispered in her ear, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid."
Mr. Luo looked around the place inside and out and exclaimed sincerely, "The person who designed this place must be a genius."
