Chapter 959 Once Promised Time 25.8

When the driver returned after signing the papers and couldn't find the girl who had hitched a ride with him, his heart sank.

Oh no, he really lost the person! The driver hurriedly went to call the police.

"Comrade, the little girl who got into my car looked about seven or eight years old, thin and small. She must have had a fight with her family and ran away from home. I was just about to take her home when she disappeared. Can you help me find her?"

"What's the little girl's name?" Officer A asked.

"I...don't know." The driver looked confused; the girl hadn't said anything to him or asked him.

"What do they look like? There are plenty of skinny little girls like that." Officer A said helplessly.

The driver volunteered, "I'll draw that person for you."

So the driver asked for a pen and a piece of paper, and soon a little girl's image appeared on the paper, which amazed the police officer: "Comrade, you've drawn quite well."

The driver scratched his head sheepishly and chuckled, "Just a hobby, a hobby, huh?"

“Well, you know too little about this girl’s situation, so finding her might be difficult, but we will do our best,” Officer A said.

The driver nodded repeatedly: "It's good that you did your best. Maybe she was taken away by her family."

He could only try to think positively and dared not imagine whether the little girl was in trouble.

Lu Qingyan knew nothing of what the driver had done for her. After slipping away from him, she looked at this place, which was several times larger than the cities she had visited before, her eyes sparkling. It was so beautiful here; she loved it.

Time passed little by little, and the steamed buns and pickled vegetables he had brought with him were soon gone.

Lu Qingyan carried several thousand yuan in cash, but she only bought herself some steamed buns to eat. The steamed buns sold outside seemed a little different from the ones she steamed herself; they were whiter and sweeter.

Lu Qingyan thought to herself with a smile, unaware that she had been targeted because of this incident.

Two shifty-eyed young men were whispering to each other in the alley across the street.

"Brother, look at that girl, she's dressed so dirty, but I didn't expect her to have so much money. We're dirt poor right now, so why don't we..." A cunning glint appeared in his eyes, and it was obvious he wasn't up to anything.

The other person nodded in agreement: "You've got a good eye this time. That little brat was carrying so much money all by herself. Getting that money out of her is a piece of cake. This is a good job, no risk at all. I don't want to go back in right after I get out."

"Brother, you said that little brat is all alone, why don't we sell her too?" the man chuckled.

"Big Brother" slapped him on the back of the head: "Can't you use your brain? Do you think human trafficking is so easy to get involved in? I think you want to go to jail again!"

"No, brother," the younger brother said with a grin. "Don't be angry, it's all my fault for being ignorant. I'll listen to whatever you say." He patted his chest and assured him.

When "Big Brother" saw Lu Qingyan come out of the steamed bun shop, he immediately threw the cigarette in his mouth on the ground and stomped on it: "Let's go, follow her."

The younger brother obediently followed behind him, cornering Lu Qingyan in the alley.

"Little sister, be a good girl and take out the money."
