Ziyun Temple.
This is a place for female Taoist practitioners to cultivate in seclusion, but at this moment, two groups of people are arguing in front of the gate.
Directly in front of a group of armed guards stood two old women with fierce and mean faces, hands on their hips, looking imposing.
They pointed at a group of female cultivators from the Ziyun Temple across the street and started cursing them with the most offensive language imaginable.
"Your abbot is shamelessly seducing our master behind his back! If you know what's good for you, hand him over so we can deal with him, or don't blame us for arresting you all too!!"
"A place for Taoist cultivation? Bah!! I think it's no worse than the brothels in the city for men to have fun with!"
"Hehe... Even the abbot is no decent person, let alone the people below him."
"On the surface, she pretends to be a virtuous and chaste woman, but behind the scenes, she's more lewd than anyone else. She should be drowned in a pig cage! What kind of virtuous Taoist temple is this? Burn it all down!"
The female cultivator opposite had never seen such a scene before. She was humiliated and her face turned red with anger.
"Stop talking nonsense! How dare you slander our abbot's innocence!"
"Everything must be based on evidence! There are gods watching over us. You come to my Taoist sanctuary and speak ill of me. Aren't you afraid of retribution?!"
The two old women opposite him laughed loudly, their laughter extremely arrogant.
"Hahaha... If anyone's going to get retribution, it'll be you fake cultivators and real harlots! Using the guise of celibacy to do such despicable things. Even the gods you worship seem unclean. If there really were gods watching over us, how could they possibly forgive you?!"
The female cultivators have been practicing asceticism for many years and have their own level of self-cultivation. They find it difficult to utter vulgar words. How can they fight against a seasoned old woman if they have never experienced a shrew's cursing?
All they offered were a few weak and feeble excuses. "You're talking nonsense!...We didn't!...Don't try to smear our innocence!"
Some of the more timid ones were even so angry that they cried.
How important is chastity to a woman in this era? How important is it to a female cultivator? This is going to ruin them!
"I'm too lazy to waste words with them. Just rush in and arrest them. Anyone who tries to stop us, arrest them! If anything goes wrong, Madam will take the blame!"
An old woman spoke arrogantly, and the servants and thugs behind her ignored her and rushed inside.
"You're not allowed to go in... Ah!"
The female cultivators angrily tried to stop them, but women are naturally not as strong as men, so they couldn't stop them.
Some were pushed to the ground, and some were even groped by men in a wicked way. They were so shocked and humiliated that they wished they could just bang their heads against the ground and die.
The scene was chaotic; some people were so grief-stricken that they looked up and wept.
Look at the gods they worship day and night! Ziyun Temple has suffered an undeserved calamity. We beg Heaven to have mercy on them and quickly punish these evildoers!
"stop!"
With a sharp shout, the chaos at the scene came to an abrupt halt, and all eyes fell on the female cultivator who walked out of the temple.
The newcomer was about 40 years old, dressed in a dark blue Taoist robe, holding a whisk, and possessing an otherworldly air, but his eyes were cold.
Seeing this, the group of troublemakers unconsciously backed down. After all, they were people from outside the secular world; dealing with immortals, they might possess some supernatural abilities.
The female cultivators saw the Sea-Stabilizing Needle and cried out, "Master!"
"Abbot, they've gone too far!"
The two old women were stunned for a moment, but then they mustered up their courage and started acting tough again.
If they were truly capable, they wouldn't have let things escalate to this point. They outnumber them and could easily take them down.
The two old women made a show of arresting the man, but then, with a quick glint in their eyes, they decided to take all the young girls back with them, turning two of them against the man and solidifying his charge of adultery.
The abbot of Ziyun Temple slowly closed his eyes and sighed softly, "When will this world be more tolerant of women?..."
She opened her eyes, having made up her mind, and said indifferently, "I will go with you. Do not make things difficult for them."
Several female cultivators cried out, their voices trembling, "Abbot!"
With the abbot gone, one can only imagine the consequences. Without the abbot's protection, they are like rootless duckweed, how will they survive?
These were all women who had nowhere else to turn and were homeless. Fortunately, they were protected by the abbot and were able to find a place to stay.
Why would a good person like the abbot encounter such hardships?
Waaah... Heaven is blind, evil people are in power, good people don't get their due, while evil people enjoy endless blessings.
What kind of logic is this? What kind of logic is this?!
The old woman's face was so full of fat that it practically screamed "disdain!"
"Hmph! That's not up to you! Arrest them all and take them back with gongs banging and shouting about the abbot of Ziyun Temple's crime of adultery."
This is sending them to their deaths!
The female cultivators were terrified when they heard the abbot shout:
"Isn't your master just hoping to see me suffer a bad end? I have some martial arts skills, so escaping won't be a problem. If you insist on implicating them, then I'll have no choice but to let you go back unable to explain yourselves."
The two old women exchanged a glance. They decided that business was more important. If they tied up the older one, wouldn't the younger ones be at anyone's mercy?
He then devised another insidious plan, threatening the lives of the two maids and ordering two servants...
"Strip this slut and tie her up!"
All the women present changed their expressions drastically.
The abbot of Ziyun Temple trembled slightly as he looked at the two disciples with sharp weapons held to their necks. The disciples, tears streaming down their faces, shook their heads frantically, begging the abbot to leave them alone and to flee for their lives.
The two female cultivators each had a handprint on their face, but they still ignored it and urged the abbot to leave.
The abbot of Ziyun Temple had reddened his eyes, and finally looked at the stone pillar beside him.
She couldn't make either of the two choices, only…
