Let's be honest, we're rich!

Early the next morning.

Xia Nuan got up early and was already in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

Yu Shuang grabbed the two sleeping twins and pulled them up.

"The early bird catches the worm, so I must develop the good habit of going to bed early and getting up early from now on."

The two little kids had puffy eyes and were full of resentment.

Xia Xiaotian, who had already developed a tyrannical habit, reacted unusually strongly.

"I'm not getting up! I'm not getting up! Get out of my way! Why are you making me get up so early!?"

"Smack!"

He was stunned by Yu Shuang's big punch.

Stop making a fuss.

I woke up filled with hatred and resentment.

Xia Xiaoyun and Xia Xiaotian's rooms are next to each other.

I was woken up early in the morning by the noise Xia Xiaotian made.

She covered her ears and rolled over in her bed, annoyed.

When is Mom going to stop going crazy?!

Why are you always targeting your younger brother? Didn't you get enough of hitting him last night?

"Knock knock knock!"

"Xia Xiaoyun, get up."

Xia Xiaoyun impatiently turned over again.

What's wrong with Mom today? Wasn't taking her anger out on my brother enough? Why drag her into it too?

On what grounds?

Just because you're my mom, does that give you the right?

They brought me into this world to suffer without my consent; they owe me that.

What right do you have to exercise your parental tyranny over me?

She won't get up!

She felt emboldened, as her door was locked from the inside.

With a "bang," the second door to the house was bravely sacrificed.

"There's no need for your door to exist anymore."

Xia Xiaoyun suddenly sat up in bed with a start.

I stared in disbelief at the doorway.

You can still vaguely see your younger brother's resentful figure in the living room.

She couldn't help but swallow.

Yu Shuang: "Get up, don't force me to do it."

A wise man doesn't fight a losing battle. Anyway, she's sober now, so she might as well get up.

Next, Yu Shuang assigned household chores to the twins.

Both of them looked like they couldn't accept it.

They've never done housework in all their lives.

Isn't there an older sister?

Where would it be their turn?

"Does your eldest sister want to be your maid for life? If you don't have the life of a young master or lady, why are you acting like one? Your eldest sister has done all the housework for so many years, and now all the housework will be yours."

The siblings, who had always been waited on hand and foot, suddenly became emotional.

"Why should I!"

"I won't do it!"

Then the siblings together accused Yu Shuang of being an incompetent mother, unworthy of being their mother, unable to provide them with a good life, and yet still giving birth to them, and so on...

They felt that bringing them into the world without their consent was a heinous crime.

The whole world owes them...

They refused to accept it, they would rather die than accept it...

If they had teamed up to say such hurtful things in the past, it would probably have driven the original owner half to death with anger.

Unfortunately, Yu Shuang isn't their biological mother, so she won't spoil them.

Yu Shuang silently picked up the broom.

You're not convinced, are you? Let's see if you're convinced this time.

After a lecture on love.

The siblings finally gave in…

Full of resentment, she began cleaning the house.

Yu Shuang acted like a slave owner, supervising them to ensure they weren't slacking off or failing to meet standards.

Xia Nuan had already prepared breakfast and watched the commotion for a while.

Seeing this rare scene before me, it felt as if all the pent-up emotions of the past few years had been released, and my heart was filled with warmth…

She called out: Dinner's ready.

The twins' eyes lit up, and they threw down the rags and brooms they were holding, heading towards the dining table.

Yu Shuang picked them up and carried them back, one in each hand.

"You haven't even finished your chores, and you still want breakfast? Get back to work."

The two resisted, then received another lecture, and obediently chose to continue working.

Yu Shuang went to the table to eat by herself.

"Let's eat first, we don't need to wait for them."

Xia Nuan nodded blankly.

This scene feels somewhat unreal.

In the past, it was often the younger siblings who ate at the table first while the older children did chores.

Now it's reversed?

No, Mom would have already set up her stall by this time on weekdays. How come I still have time to have breakfast with her now?

"Mom, aren't you setting up your stall today?"

Yu Shuang said calmly:

“Go later. Your younger siblings need me more right now. While I’m not home, you’ll be in charge of them. If they misbehave, just hit them. Don’t give me any special treatment.”

Xia Nuan looked troubled. She was soft-hearted and found it hard to bring herself to hit her younger siblings.

Yu Shuang gave her a pep talk, basically saying that if she couldn't bring herself to do it, they wouldn't be able to change their bad habits, and who knows what kind of bad things they would turn out to be and harm society in the future.

This isn't really for their own good.

This isn't hitting; it's education based on love.

Xia Nuan nodded firmly.

"Mom, I understand."

Yu Shuang nodded in satisfaction, "This child is teachable."

Next, the twins finally finished their work, and Yu Shuang barely deemed it acceptable, letting them eat first.

I also assigned them tasks to do when I wasn't home and set some rules for them.

First, I had to wash the pile of clothes that had accumulated at home yesterday. In my spare time, I could either do my homework or read, or go out to collect bottles to supplement the family income. I couldn't watch TV for more than two hours, and if I didn't listen to my older sister, I would be punished with family discipline, and so on...

The siblings complained bitterly, but when they saw their mother finally leave home, they felt a sense of relief.

Their true colors began to show.

Suddenly, I was enveloped by the shadow of a person.
