Let's lay it all out: we're rich!

Another chaotic scene ensued.

The twins, a boy and a girl, were so badly disciplined that they ran away with their tails between their legs and begged for mercy.

"Ah! Mom... Mom... Don't hit me, I'll never do it again. Ah!..."

Before long, the two siblings had been taught a lesson and had lost their temper.

Yu Shuang tossed the broom aside and glanced in the direction of Xia Nuan's room.

With such a commotion outside, if no one inside comes out to check, then they can only say they can't come out.

At that moment, there was a knocking sound coming from Xia Nuan's room.

"Mom, my younger siblings have locked me in my room... Could you please open the door?"

Yu Shuang glanced at the siblings, who had just been lectured, with a sinister look, and silently picked up the broom again.

The twins, a boy and a girl, had nowhere to look, their eyes wandering aimlessly.

Seeing this, he trembled with fear.

Oh no, I'm in for another beating.

They could outmaneuver their eldest sister, but they couldn't outmaneuver their mother when she went berserk.

"Mom...please listen to our explanation. We didn't mean it. It was my older sister who went too far..."

But Yu Shuang interrupted him sternly:

"Hand over the key."

Xia Xiaoyun's fearful gaze flickered slightly as she tentatively tried to negotiate terms.

"If you promise not to do anything again, we'll give you the key."

"Oh…"

Yu Shuang sneered. "You dare to negotiate with me? Looks like the lesson I just gave you wasn't severe enough."

After another round of loving instruction, the two tearfully confessed where the key was hidden.

Under Yu Shuang's orders, Xia Xiaotian, the instigator of this incident, tremblingly went to open the door.

Xia Nuan came out looking ashamed:

"Mom, I'm so useless, I can't take care of my younger siblings..."

Yu Shuang didn't blame her, but patted her shoulder reassuringly, indicating that she should take it slow.

Finally, after learning about the three siblings' behavior that day, he showed a very double standard, praising and speaking kindly to the eldest daughter.

He set a series of rules for the two spoiled twins.

They were made to kneel before the portrait of the original owner's dead husband as punishment.

The twins knelt before their father's portrait, their faces filled with bitterness and resentment.

When will Mom stop going crazy?

When will this life without human rights end? Waaaaah…

Previously, poverty was the only thing that tormented them, leading to a series of psychological problems.

Now, what torments them is not only poverty, but also their insane, cruel, and heartless mother…

The poverty they used to complain about is worlds apart from what they have now.

I never imagined that one day I would miss those days.

They had to kneel for a full two hours before Yu Shuang allowed them to go back to sleep.

From now on, one will probably have to think twice before resisting the power of adults…

They experienced so much in just one day, and they didn't even have time to process the sudden change in their lives.

In the dead of night, the siblings secretly wiped away their tears under the covers, overwhelmed by feelings of grievance and resentment.

Waaaaah... How did they end up being born into this family?

How did I end up with such a mother?

I suddenly have this urge to run away from home…

the next day.

The siblings, with swollen eyes, were woken up early again and started doing housework under their older sister's supervision.

Another grueling day begins.

Fortunately, Mom took my older sister with her when she went out to set up her stall. Although she assigned them heavy tasks, they finally had a chance to catch their breath.

I can do whatever I want at home again.

Whoever wants to wash these clothes and bed sheets can wash them!

I'm not doing my summer homework, and I'm not reading any books!

They want us to collect bottles to supplement our family income? How embarrassing would that be?

They made us mop the floor again after we just mopped it yesterday! That's outrageous!

You wouldn't notice it unless you waited.

In conclusion, watching TV is still the best way to pass the time.

Xia Xiaotian was addicted to watching TV.

Xia Xiaoyun went out to visit her best friend on the next street.

...

At this moment, Xia Nuan looked at the Taekwondo gym in front of her with a completely bewildered expression:

"Mom, why are we here if we're not setting up our stall?"

Yu Shuang said earnestly:

"The root cause of your inability to take care of your younger siblings is that you are too weak. That's why I enrolled you in a VIP 1-on-1 tutoring program. Study hard, Mom has faith in you."

Xia Nuan stared wide-eyed in disbelief, as if she had heard something out of the blue.

"You signed me up for Taekwondo classes?! Mom, are you kidding me?!"

I never imagined that, even though she was about to drop out of school, her mom would still enroll her in a taekwondo training class, and it's VIP!?

No... is this something a normal person could do?

With that kind of money, why would she drop out of school?

Yu Shuang solemnly said:

"Mom's coming clean with you, our family is rich."

Xia Nuan was stunned and couldn't believe her ears.

rich?

How is that possible?!

She knew exactly what kind of situation this family was in. Their only source of income was that roadside wonton stall.

How could their family possibly be rich?

The "wealthy" Mom is talking about isn't what she understands, is it?

Yu Shuang made up a story with a straight face.

“Our family used to be very poor, but things are different now. Your mother invested in a friend's business and has now reaped the rewards. Our family is really wealthy.”

Xia Nuan was still in a daze, and it took her a long time to process that information before her eyes gradually brightened.

I asked, somewhat uncertainly:

"What about my dropping out of school..."

Yu Shuang smiled gently.

"Are you so happy you've gone mad? Your family has the money to support your education, why would you drop out of school?"

Xia Nuan was overjoyed. Great! She didn't have to drop out of school!

The knot in her heart that had been lingering for so long was finally untied, and she felt a sense of liberation.
