Chapter 278 The Runaway Bride Doesn't Run Away [31]

Shang Xian extended his hand in greeting: "We meet again, old comrade!"

Moxi's lips twitched, and three black lines appeared on his forehead.

"Am I that old?" He lowered his eyes, a hint of melancholy in them.

She lay sprawled across Moxi's lap, half-sitting, half-reclining, and replied, "Not old at all, still very beautiful."

"The vampires' eternal youth, do you want that?" Moxi asked sincerely.

Shang Xian shook his head: "I don't want to."

"Why?" Moxi asked, puzzled. What young girl wouldn't want to stay beautiful forever?

"Because I want everyone in Licheng to know that I, Shang Xian, will still be absolutely beautiful even when I'm old, with a perfect temperament!" Shang Xian was a little excited when she thought about what she would look like when she was old.

"I thought you'd say you'd spend your whole life with the person you love, but it seems I was wrong."

"I don't even think much of Shen Yi, so who do you think I'd end up with?"

Moxi thought about it and realized it made sense. She couldn't even be interested in a super-powerful man like Shen Yi, so who else could she be interested in?

"What's the point of talking about feelings?" Shang Xian waved his hand. "How's your wound?"

"It's alright, do you want to see?" Moxi said as he started unbuttoning his shirt.

Shang Xian watched him unpack until she saw his abs and then she froze. What was she looking at?

"What are you doing!" Shang Xian continued to stare at him with a cold face.

"Weren't you supposed to be checking the wound?" Mo Xi looked completely innocent, as if Shang Xian had forced him to do it!

"So you did this in front of me?"

"Otherwise what?" Moxi finished unbuttoning his shirt and gave a wicked smile. "We've already seen it, there's no need for this."

"..." Shang Xian still felt that he was too inexperienced and no match for the old monster. Forget it, let's check how his wounds are.

She moved behind Moxi, whose scars were still shocking to behold. Several other old marks could also be seen on his back. Shang Xian couldn't help but ask, "What happened to these scars on your back?"

"Is it ugly?" Moxi's tone was very calm, which made Shang Xian feel a little sad.

"I hate that there is any imperfection on my body. These scars on my back were caused by dark powers, so they can never be healed." He has been bothered by this ever since.

"It's okay, no one can see us from behind anyway," Shang Xian said and then fell silent. Mo Xi also looked at her silently.

"Hmm... I saw it," Shang Xian scratched his head, "but I don't think it's ugly!"

Shang Xian ran his finger along the old scars on her back: "Look, these scars intersect, just like a star. I think it's quite cute, so don't be sad!"

Moxi took her hand and pulled her into his arms. Shang Xian was stunned by his sudden action and leaned against his skin, not daring to move.

A hoarse voice came from above: "You really know how to make me laugh."

The pain is something she keeps to herself; others only enjoy the pleasure she brings. She can't escape her own suffering, and those outside who want to understand her can't get in. See how pathetic that is?

Shang Xian pushed him away and laughed, "It's alright. Since you really hate these scars, one day your dark powers will disappear, and you'll be perfect again."

“You’re right, they will disperse this dark power. The priest always keeps his word.”

He awaited that day; a noble vampire would not allow himself to be tainted in the slightest...
