Chapter 258 The Pseudo-Student's Black Moonlight Goddess 08

Zhuang Yan took a deep breath, suppressed his envy and desire in his heart, and then put the peeled shrimp into Shen Xinran's bowl.

Shen Xinran looked at Zhuang Yan, her eyes widening, feeling flattered. "Is this for me? Thank you."

Zhuang Yan's face still had that indifferent expression, "You're welcome, I'm allergic to crayfish and can't eat it."

His words were like a stone thrown into a calm lake, causing ripples.

Xia Qinghong immediately stood up with an apologetic smile on her face, "Then I'll go cook you another dish."

Zhuang Yan shook his head. "No, my dad should be resting. I'll go back first. Thank you, Uncle Qiao and Aunt Xia, for your hospitality."

Only then did everyone realize that the noise upstairs had stopped.

After Zhuang Yan finished speaking, he stood up, bowed and left.

The warmth here scared him. He was afraid that if he stayed here for too long, he would become attached to it.

So, he had to leave first.

Zhuang Yan's back stretched out in the dim light, and every movement seemed so heavy. But on this night, he at least felt a hint of warmth, and he was already very satisfied.

Xia Qinghong sighed, "This child is so sensible that it makes me feel distressed. He didn't eat a single bite of rice and peeled shrimp for Zi Xiao."

Qiao Qihao looked back and forth between Xiao Longxia and Zhuang Yan's back, frowned and thought for a moment, then silently followed Zhuang Yan up to the fifth floor.

He wanted to comfort Zhuang Yan, but didn't know how to start.

Finally, he mustered up the courage to express his concern in a clumsy way, "Brother Zhuang Yan, don't be too sad. Actually...actually, my sister is even more fierce than your father."

Zhuang Yan smiled and said, "Actually, your sister is quite gentle."

Qiao Qihao's eyes widened. "You said she was gentle, but you probably haven't seen her hit me."

Zhuang Yan's thin lips curled slightly, "It's always you who provokes her first, and then she attacks you. Besides, when has she ever tried to kill you?"

He had indeed never seen it, but he had heard a lot about it.

Qiao Qihao scratched his head, as if recalling something, then nodded, "It seems to be true."

Zhuang Yan sighed and said earnestly, "Go back soon. Like your sister said, you can play games anytime. At your age, you should focus on your studies."

Although Qiao Qihao felt a little aggrieved, he still nodded and said, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

After Qiao Qihao went downstairs, Zhuang Yan took out the key from his schoolbag. He knew that he had to return to this so-called "home" to face the unavoidable reality.

He slowly inserted the key into the lock, turned it gently, and the door opened. The mess in the living room came into view: his father was lying on the floor like a corpse, the table and chairs were overturned, and empty bottles were scattered around.

There was no surprise, no anger, not even sadness in Zhuang Yan's eyes, only a deep numbness and indifference.

His gaze didn't even linger on his father. He just silently stepped past him, returned to the room, and locked the door.

That night, Shen Xinran kept paying attention to the movements upstairs until the second half of the night before falling asleep. As a result, the next morning, when the alarm clock rang, Shen Xinran still didn't want to get up.

Finally, it was Xia Qinghong who walked into the room, shook Shen Xinran awake, and urged softly: "Zixiao, if you don't get up now, you'll be late."

Shen Xinran finally got up, and from washing to eating breakfast, she was listless. Finally, she could only look at Qiao Hong, "Dad, please take me directly to the school gate. I don't want to walk anymore."

Qiao Hong was stunned for a moment, then he smiled and nodded, "Okay."

The opposite of her was Zhuang Yan. As soon as Shen Xinran entered the classroom, she saw Zhuang Yan sitting in his seat, looking refreshed.

Shen Xinran put down his schoolbag, sat on the chair, and asked while yawning, "Why did you come so early today?"

Zhuang Yan smiled and said, "Didn't you tell me not to stay up late?"

Shen Xinran glanced at Zhuang Yan and muttered softly, "Then I asked you to study hard, but I never saw you listen!"

At this moment, Xin Zeming entered the classroom. But just as he was putting his schoolbag into the drawer, his movements suddenly froze because his fingers touched something cold and slippery.

He was startled and hurriedly pulled the cold object out of the drawer, only to see a snake coiled around his wrist. He panicked and shook it off, then jumped onto the table, "Ah, help!"

Xin Zeming, a man of about 1.8 meters in height, curled up on the desk and was frightened into singing a soprano.

This sudden scene threw the entire classroom into chaos. Students ran and jumped, screaming in fear: "Ah, there's a snake!"

Shen Xinran wasn't actually afraid of snakes, after all, the snake was still half the distance away from her. But seeing that all the boys and girls in the class were so scared, she felt that in order to fit in with the tense atmosphere, she had to scream a few times. "Ah, I'm scared too!"

After Shen Xinran finished yelling, she buried her head in Zhuang Yan's chest. She perfectly portrayed the frightened girl. This was a great opportunity to get closer to the male lead, and it would be a shame not to use it.

This sudden closeness stunned Zhuang Yan. Her hair brushed gently against his cheek, bringing an itchy feeling that made his heart beat faster involuntarily.

Zhuang Yan didn't know where to put his open hands for a moment. He swallowed and patted Shen Xinran's shoulder awkwardly, trying to comfort her: "It's okay, the snake is not poisonous."

Shen Xinran, however, kept lying on Zhuang Yan's chest, and sighed: "Your heartbeat is so fast!"

This sentence made Zhuang Yan's face turn red instantly. He felt like he was electrocuted. He quickly pushed Shen Xinran away, then took out a book from the desk and pretended to read it seriously.

Shen Xinran noticed Zhuang Yan's red ears at a glance, and she couldn't help but teasing him, "Zhuang Yan, you're holding the book upside down."

Zhuang Yan didn't notice that at all and quickly turned the book over, trying to hide his embarrassment.

This made Shen Xinran laugh even more happily. She continued to tease Zhuang Yan: "I was kidding, you didn't hold the book upside down."

Zhuang Yan could only stuff the book back into his desk and lie on it, his heart beating faster and the blush on his face took a long time to fade away.

On Friday morning, sunlight streamed into the classroom through the window.

The head teacher came in with a thick pile of papers. He placed the papers on the desk, stirring up a cloud of chalk dust.

The head teacher's voice broke the silence of the classroom: "The National Day holiday is a full seven days long. I have prepared three sets of examination papers for you. They are all simulation questions of the college entrance examination in previous years. Give them to me after the National Day holiday."

The students complained one after another: "We finally have seven days off, why do we have to take exams again?"

The head teacher responded with a hint of unquestionable firmness: "You have seven days off for National Day. Doing half a set of papers in one day is too much!"
