Chapter 396 The Coward's Black Moonlight Witch 27

Chapter 396 The Coward's Black Moonlight Witch 27

Zheng Guanqing watched Chen Lanru rush towards Jia Wenxiu again, and quickly stepped forward and hugged Chen Lanru around the waist. "She is my mother after all. If this matter gets out of hand, it will not be good for us."

Chen Lanru almost broke down. She cried, "How could you say such cruel words? Isn't Tongtong a piece of flesh that fell from your body? Don't you feel sorry for her?"

Zheng Guanqing's voice was filled with helplessness. "How could I not feel bad, but Tongtong is gone. This matter cannot be undone."

Chen Lanru wiped away her tears and said in a resolute voice, "I've tolerated your mother for ten years, but this time I can't tolerate it anymore. I'm going to sue her and make her responsible. If you stand on your mother's side, I'll pretend that I don't have a husband like you, and Tongtong won't have a father like you."

After saying that, Chen Lanru hugged her daughter's body tightly, turned around and left. She would protect her daughter by herself.

The school bell rang crisply, breaking the tranquility of the campus.

After Chu Bojian and the teacher announced the end of get out of class, he immediately walked to Shen Xinran's side and said anxiously, "Let's go home!"

After two days of observation, he found that the ghosts in the playground had nothing to do and liked to watch students going to and from school. He had to leave the school early before they gathered.

Shen Xinran nodded and followed Chu Bojian silently, but when she passed the convenience store, she suddenly stopped.

Chu Bojian turned around with a hint of confusion in his eyes, "What's wrong?"

Shen Xinran's eyes fell on the freezer in the canteen, and his brows furrowed. "You promised to treat me to popsicles."

Chu Bojian glanced towards the playground and saw more than twenty ghosts already there. He said to Shen Xinran, "I'll buy it for you after we get out of school, okay?"

Shen Xinran shook his head, a hint of childish stubbornness in his eyes. "But I want to eat now."

Chu Bojian sighed, ran straight to the store, and called out to the owner, "Uncle, give me a red date flavored popsicle."

When the boss handed the popsicle to Chu Bojian, he also asked, "Would you like something else?"

Chu Bojian handed over the money with one hand and took the popsicle with the other. "No thanks, uncle."

There was a trash can next to the canteen. Chu Bojian tore off the outer packaging of the popsicle, handed it to Shen Xin, then took Shen Xinran's hand and trotted out of the school.

As more and more students appeared on the playground, ghosts began to gather and talk in low voices.

A ghost whispered, "Look, they're out of school."

One of the ghosts saw Chu Bojian and Shen Xinran holding hands, and a gentle smile appeared on his face unconsciously, "It's so good to be alive. We can still hold hands."

"Yeah, who says it isn't?" another ghost echoed, his voice tinged with nostalgia.

As the afterglow of the setting sun fell, the ghost's figure appeared hazy and transparent in the dim light.

When Chu Bojian heard the ghost's words, he didn't dare to say a word, let alone look up, for fear of making eye contact with a ghost.

Shen Xinran ate the popsicle in his hand, and did not show any dissatisfaction even when Chu Bojian dragged him to run.

Chu Bojian breathed a sigh of relief after leaving the school gate. He looked at Shen Xinran who was still eating a popsicle and asked with a smile, "Is it delicious?"

Shen Xinran nodded, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, "Delicious."

Chu Bojian wanted to tease Shen Xinran, so he smiled and said to her, "Give me a bite."

But Shen Xinran frowned and shook his head resolutely, "No."

Chu Bojian could only remind her: "Don't forget, this is what I bought for you."

Shen Xinran raised his chin and snorted coldly, "Buy it for me, it's mine."

After Shen Xinran finished speaking, He Baifeng's figure appeared in her sight. She trotted towards He Baifeng and shouted, "Grandma, you're back!"

He Baifeng took out a handkerchief and wiped Shen Xinran's sweat before asking, "Where did this popsicle come from?"

Shen Xinran's eyes curved, "Chu Bojian bought it for me."

After she finished speaking, she placed the popsicle next to He Baifeng's mouth and said with a smile, "Grandma, have a bite."

Chu Bojian watched He Baifeng take a bite of the popsicle in Shen Xinran's hand. If He Baifeng hadn't taken that bite, he wouldn't have thought anything of it.

But Silly Girl gave one to He Baifeng and not to him. Chu Bojian secretly made up his mind that after school tomorrow, he would buy two for himself and not give any to Silly Girl!

It was late at night. Chu Bojian felt the urge to urinate in his sleep. He got up in a daze, went to the toilet, and instinctively walked towards the middle room.

When Shen Xinran wanted to go to the bathroom, she stepped on something hard when she got out of bed. She looked down and saw that it was Chu Bojian.

He lay flat on the ground, his head resting on the nest she had made for the lightbulb, which he had pushed into the corner.

Shen Xinran frowned, she kicked Chu Bojian's body and accused: "Why did you take the light bulb's nest!"

Chu Bojian was in a state of half-sleep and half-wakefulness. After opening his eyes, he was still a little confused. Where else could he sleep if not here?

Suddenly, he realized something and looked down, realizing that he was now a human. He could only stand up and gave Chen Xinran an awkward smile, "Sorry, I went the wrong way."

Shen Xinran glared at Chu Bojian, and after he left, he picked up the sleeping bulb with a look of heartache and put it back in its nest.

When Chu Bojian returned to his room, he could still hear Shen Xinran muttering to the light bulb, "Chu Bojian is bad, we won't play with him."

This made him feel inexplicably bitter, as if an unripe lemon was quietly exploding in his heart.

It was ridiculous to think that he actually envied a cat. And that cat was himself.

That afternoon, He Baifeng was preparing to cook dinner when she saw Chen Lanru walking towards her.

Unlike the previous time we met, this time her hair was messy and there was a thin layer of dark circles under her eyes.

He Baifeng's heart skipped a beat. The time she had agreed on last time hadn't arrived yet, so what was she doing here? But her professionalism as a fortune teller still made her smile. "What do you want to ask today?"

Chen Lanru smiled at He Baifeng, but there was a hint of fatigue in that smile. "I'm looking for classmate Tan Shi."

He Baifeng didn't know that Chen Lanru was Shen Xinran's homeroom teacher, so she frowned, "My granddaughter hasn't finished school yet. If you have something to talk to her about, it's the same if you tell me."

Chen Lanru looked at He Baifeng with a hint of hope in her eyes, "I want to see my daughter, can you help me?"

He Baifeng looked strange, "Didn't I tell you that you can't get pregnant until next autumn?"

When Chen Lanru heard this, she knew that He Baifeng couldn't see her Tongtong. "Then can I wait here for classmate Tan Shi for a while?"

He Baifeng nodded and moved a stool to Chen Lanru. "Have a seat. She should be out of school in half an hour."
