Chapter 5: The CEO's Substitute - The Crippled Boy - Disfigured
The butler crossed his arms and looked at Gu Shanshan with disdain.
"Of course, I once saw a portrait of that person, and your face looks almost exactly like his."
When he saw Gu Shanshan, if he hadn't known that Gu Shanshan was the young master of the Gu family and a cripple with both legs disabled, he would have almost mistaken the face, which was more than 99% similar to the one Mr. Gong loved, for the person he saw.
"No, that's impossible!"
Gu Shanshan bit her lip and retorted, "Unless it's plastic surgery or the possibility of twins, how could there be two people in this world who are almost exactly the same?"
Seeing Gu Shanshan's pale face, the butler smiled smugly.
She sneered, "Why not? Gu Shanshan, I'm only telling you out of pity, because I can't bear to keep you in the dark any longer, so you don't get too caught up in it and actually think Mr. Gong has feelings for you."
"Shut up and get out!"
Gu Shanshan suppressed her unease and discomfort, her face turned cold, and she told the housekeeper to leave.
The butler's expression changed, and he spat angrily.
He cursed, "What a piece of trash! He's just the son of a nouveau riche. I was just trying to give you a friendly reminder, and you dare to give me attitude. You're shameless."
Gu Shanshan frowned as she looked at the butler's mean face, recalling how the butler had acted weak in front of Gong Ye that morning.
Suddenly he understood everything and revealed a mocking smile.
She retorted, "And what about you? What are you? Just a butler. Putting on this face in front of me, anyone who didn't know better would think you were Gong Ye's wife."
Having his thoughts exposed, the butler glared fiercely at Gu Shanshan.
She quickly retorted, "You bitch, don't talk nonsense!"
Gu Shanshan snorted coldly, "Whether I'm lying or not, you know best in your heart. Let me tell you, no matter if you don't like me or not, no matter what Gong Ye regards me as, whether it's a plaything or a substitute, in front of you, I am still Gong Ye's wife, the lady of the Gong family. If you dare to disrespect me again, when Gong Ye comes back, you will act weak and helpless, and so will I."
After speaking, as if he had thought of something, a malicious smile appeared on his lips.
Then he continued, "By the way, I'm the one who goes to bed with you during the night. What do you think will happen to you if I whisper something in your ear?"
As she spoke, Gu Shanshan straightened up, and the blanket covering her slipped off and fell to the floor.
A provocative yet alluring smile appeared on her face. "Look closely, see how much Gong Ye loves my body. Tell me, will Gong Ye listen to you or me?"
The butler, who had originally intended to slap Gu Shanshan, hesitated for a moment after hearing her words.
She angrily withdrew her hand, her eyes filled with malice as she cursed, "Gu Shanshan, you're ruthless!"
After speaking, he turned around and stormed out the door, seething with anger.
Gu Shanshan is right. He is just a butler. No matter how much love he has in his heart, he dares not show it at all.
"Damn bitch, why, why!"
The butler slammed his fist against the wall, his eyes burning with jealous rage.
He was jealous of Gu Shanshan's good fortune. Not only did she have a face that looked almost exactly like Gong Ye's beloved, but she was also lucky enough to be noticed by Gong Ye.
A calculating glint flashed in the butler's eyes, and a sinister sneer appeared on his face.
"You damn vixen, just you wait! You're only arrogant because of your face. I'll ruin your face and see how you seduce Mr. Gong then!"
Once she could no longer hear the housekeeper's footsteps, Gu Shanshan's tense body finally relaxed.
I collapsed helplessly onto the bed, and as I recalled the housekeeper's words, an indescribable feeling of suffocation and pain rose in my heart.
It's strange, even though Gong Ye was just his mission target, and even though he and Gong Ye had only met and spent less than three days together.
But within that short period of time, he learned that Gong Ye had used him as a substitute and had only married him because of his resemblance to his beloved.
My heart feels like it's been pierced by a thousand arrows, empty and bleeding with pain.
[007, who is the person Gong Ye truly loves? Why didn't the information transmitted to my brain mention this at all? Why doesn't Gong Ye marry him? Why did he marry me?]
The system provided him with no detailed information, leaving him completely bewildered.
If he had known from the beginning that Gong Ye already had someone he deeply loved, he would never have had a relationship with Gong Ye last night.
007 was also confused. Ever since the last world, for some reason, he was treated differently from other systems.
Other systems receive detailed mission target information from the main god every time, but when it comes to him, all he gets is the target's name and profession information.
Therefore, even if he wanted to, he was powerless to help the host.

He looked around, but there were no clean clothes for him to wear in the room.
Looking at it this way, he really is an insignificant stand-in.
"So annoying!"
With her mind filled with thoughts of a stand-in, Gu Shanshan rubbed her throbbing head and muttered irritably.
Knock knock knock...
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in."
Just as she finished speaking, a maid came in, pushing a wheelchair.
He respectfully said to Gu Shanshan, "Madam, this is the wheelchair prepared for you by the butler."
After saying that, he pushed the wheelchair in front of Gu Shanshan and helped her sit in it.
"Thank you," Gu Shanshan said sincerely.
This was the first time he had been treated so politely since he came to this house.
"You're welcome, it's what I should do. The room is too small, would you like me to push you to the corridor to see if the wheelchair fits?"
Gu Shanshan nodded. "Okay."
Once in the corridor, Gu Shanshan asked the maid to release him.
He was adjusting the wheelchair himself, and it was fine at first. But as he spun around, a screw fell out, and the wheelchair instantly went out of control, sliding rapidly down the cascading stairs...
