Shen Shi had just heard the news that Deng Jie and Liu Yiyi were planning to get married, but hadn't had time to ask anyone about it yet.
Then I heard that their wedding date was set for the seventh day of the twelfth lunar month, the same day as Shen Shi's wedding.
This is like a toad crawling on your foot; it doesn't bite, but it's still annoying.
The wedding date was an auspicious day chosen long ago, and it had already been announced on the day of the engagement. Deng Jie just happened to choose this day to get married, which is hard to say was not intentional.
But Chen Shi couldn't order Deng Jie to change the date.
I felt disgusted, like I had swallowed a fly.
As the days went by, the wedding date drew ever closer.
Today, Shen Shi and Song Jiajia are going to a photo studio to take pictures together.
Chen Shi plans to take a small set of photos to paste on the marriage certificate, and then take a large set to put in a frame and display in the house.
Shen Shi went to the Song family early in the morning. Now that he was a prospective son-in-law, he could come directly to the house and wait for Song Jiajia in the courtyard.
Seeing some unchopped firewood piled up in the yard, Chen Shi picked up the axe and chopped it up as well.
When Song's mother looked at Shen Shi now, it was like a mother-in-law looking at her son-in-law; the more she looked, the more pleasing he became.
Her future son-in-law is not only handsome, but also treats her Jiajia exceptionally well and is a hardworking young man.
Seeing Shen Shi working, he quickly said, "Xiao Shen, stop chopping and take a break. Let Jiajia and her brothers do the work when they come back."
Now that we've had sons, how can we not let them do chores?
"It's alright, I'm almost done." Shen Shi nimbly finished chopping in a few strokes.
Just then, Song Jiajia also finished getting ready and came out.
After saying goodbye to Song's mother, Shen Shi rode his bicycle with Song Jiajia on the back, and the two headed to town.
Upon arriving in town, the two first bought some steamed buns to fill their stomachs before heading to the photo studio.
There was only one photo studio in town, and business was pretty good; there were several people ahead of them in line.
However, there's nothing fancy about taking photos; you just sit down and snap a few pictures, and it only takes a few minutes for one person.
Shen Shi and Song Jiajia were waiting in line inside.
After waiting for a short while, just as it was about to be their turn, someone suddenly rushed out and shouted, "Boss, we're in a hurry, let us take the photos first."
When Chen looked back, he was surprised to see an old acquaintance.
Deng Jie, pulling Liu Yiyi along, pushed and shoved their way to the front of the line.
The shop owner was somewhat intimidated by Deng Jie's fierce appearance, but still refused, saying, "In our business, there's a first-come, first-served principle. Everyone is waiting in line, I can't put you in first. It won't take more than a few minutes for each person, so you should go and join the queue first."
The boss politely refused, but somehow inadvertently stepped on Deng Jie's tail.
Upon hearing this, Deng Jie flew into a rage, slamming his fist on the table in front of the boss with a deafening roar. "I said I wanted to slam the fist first! I'm in a hurry, don't you understand? I'll give you extra money, okay? Extra money, alright!"

He just wants to pick a fight and beat up Chen to vent his anger.
After hearing Shen Shi's words, Deng Jie raised his fist and charged at Shen Shi without saying a word.
However, before Deng Jie's fist could even make contact, he was kicked away.
The force of the fall was perfectly controlled, and Deng Jie landed right at the entrance of the photo studio.
Deng Jie was completely dumbfounded. How could this be?
How could he be kicked away by that weakling Shen Shi? Something must have gone wrong.
After Deng Jie got up, he rushed towards Chen Shi again.
Then, once again, it flew to the entrance of the photo studio.
Chen Shi's two kicks were delivered with real force, and Deng Jie was in pain even breathing. He struggled to get up.
Under Deng Jie's incredulous gaze, Shen Shi walked up to him and asked in a gentle tone, "Do you still want to cut in line?"
Deng Jie felt as if he were hearing the whispers of the devil.
Under the oppressive gaze of Shen Shi, Deng Jie shook his head, knowing he couldn't bear another kick.
But before leaving, Deng Jie, despite his pain, managed to yell at Liu Yiyi, who was standing there, "What are you standing there for! Get out of here!"
After saying that, he grabbed Liu Yiyi and left the photo studio.
Ever since entering the photo studio, Liu Yiyi has been completely blank and unresponsive. She behaves like an emotionless doll in the face of Deng Jie's rage or madness.
After dealing with Deng Jie, Chen Shi pulled Song Jiajia to continue queuing.
Seeing Song Jiajia's undisguised admiration, he said smugly, "Don't be too obsessed with me."
Then he got a big eye roll from Song Jiajia in return.
However, Song Jiajia was still curious about Shen Shi's fighting skills. She couldn't help but ask:
"Wow, you're amazing! I didn't even see how you made that kick. Why didn't you tell me before?"
Shen Shi placed his hand on Song Jiajia's ear and made a circular motion.
