Then, with a slight movement of his fingers, the Emperor understood Qingyao's intention. He immediately picked up Qingyao and walked towards the sedan chair. After placing Qingyao safely in the sedan chair, he jumped onto the horse.
The chief eunuch Li Cheng immediately shouted in unison: "Let's go back to the palace." Then everyone knelt down again to see the emperor and empress off.
When the wedding procession arrived at the palace gate, the emperor dismounted, got into the bridal sedan and picked up Qingyao. Qingyao put her arms around the emperor's neck. The emperor smiled at Qingyao lovingly, then held Qingyao in his arms and walked towards the thousands of steps of the palace.
After climbing the steps, all the civil and military officials had already knelt here, and incense and candles had been placed at the door in the middle of the court. This was a necessary ceremony for the emperor and empress to get married - worshiping the ancestral temple.
Then, the Emperor carried Qingyao to the incense burner and put it down.
Qingyao and Dijun took the incense and candles handed to them by the eunuch, held them in their hands, bowed three times towards the sky, and then bowed three times towards their parents. Then the eunuch took the incense and inserted it into the burner.
At this point, the worship ceremony officially ended. During this process, all the ministers knelt on the ground and lay prostrate without making any sound.
After the ceremony of worshipping the two ended, the ministers said loudly: "Congratulations to the Emperor and Empress on their marriage. We wish them a long and happy marriage."
The Emperor and Qingyao said in unison, "Stand up." Only then did the ministers stand up.
Then the two of them followed the master of ceremonies saying "The ceremony is over", and the emperor picked up Qingyao, walked into the emperor's bedroom, and placed Qingyao on the dragon bed.
