The old man didn't ask any difficult questions; Ling Qingyue just needed to explain the contents of the few projects he mentioned.
But after a minute, Ling Qingyue still didn't open her mouth.
The old man's expression changed: "Didn't you read all the documents? How can you not answer such a simple question?"
Ling Qingyue gave a light, enigmatic laugh.
Seeing him smile, the old man became even angrier. He stopped talking to Ling Qingyue and instead called out to Jiang Tian.
"Has he actually been working properly at the company? When you asked him to look at the documents, was he daydreaming? I sent you there to discipline him, so don't try to cover for him!"
Jiang Tian pursed her lips, making them appear slightly pale.
She lowered her head: "Chairman, the young master has indeed been working very hard."
The old man didn't believe it. His expression was as cold as ice: "Jiang Tian, you're going to cover for him now, but what about later? If he can't stand up for himself, who should I hold accountable? Don't disappoint me."
Jiang Tian lowered her head even further.
Ling Qingyue watched from the side, and a subtle pain suddenly welled up in her heart.
He had originally decided to show the old man that he simply didn't want to manage the group.
But Ling Qingyue couldn't bear to look at Jiang Tian's appearance.

Ling Qingyue was startled and quickly looked away.

"Okay, you can go. Jiang Tian, you stay here. Xu Yize will be here soon, you two can have a chat."
Ling Qingyue was about to leave, but upon hearing the name Xu Yize, he looked at the old man and asked, "Who is Xu Yize?"
The old man was relatively good-tempered towards him today. He didn't say much and still waved him away, saying, "It's none of your business. Why do you care so much?"
Upon hearing this, Ling Qingyue decided not to leave and insisted on getting to the bottom of it.
He tried to recall: "I seem to remember Xu Yize. He's the second son of the Xu family? The Xu family doesn't have any business dealings with the Ling family in trade, and their main areas of focus don't overlap. Why are you introducing him?"
The old man thought Ling Qingyue was very noisy.
He said sternly, "Xu Yize isn't married, and Jiang Tian isn't married. Why would I introduce him to her?"
In an instant, Ling Qingyue froze on the spot.
The old man didn't notice Ling Qingyue's unusual expression. He looked at Jiang Tian and couldn't help but remind her, "I watched the Xu family's child grow up. He's quite good in every way. He's the same age as you, so you two should have something to talk about."
Jiang Tian nodded obediently: "Thank you for your trouble."

As the two were talking, a gentle-looking young man walked over.
He was not short, and wearing a white suit, he had an outstanding presence.
Xu Yize smiled politely at the old man and said, "Uncle Ling, happy birthday."
The old man patted him on the shoulder and said with satisfaction, "I'm very happy that you came to celebrate my birthday."
Xu Yize's expression was very gentle: "You are an elder, and it is my honor to celebrate your birthday as a junior."
The old man nodded and pointed to Jiang Tian beside him: "Let me introduce you. This is Jiang Tian. I think you should have heard of her reputation. She single-handedly defeated many elites to become my first secretary, which surprised many people."
Xu Yize looked at Jiang Tian, nodded slightly to her, and extended his hand: "Hello, Miss Jiang, I've heard so much about you."

Seeing that they were chatting, the old man stopped talking, made an excuse that he wanted to chat with his old friends, and prepared to leave.
He glanced over casually and found his son staring blankly at Jiang Tian and Xu Yize as they talked.
"Weren't you going to go shopping with other people? What are you standing here for?"
The old man glared at Ling Qingyue and questioned her.
Ling Qingyue seemed somewhat absent-minded and did not respond to his question.
Jiang Tian glanced at Ling Qingyue indifferently, then smiled and said to Xu Yize, "How about we take a stroll in the garden and chat?"
Xu Yize nodded: "Okay."
Ling Qingyue only came to her senses after the two people had walked away.
The old man hadn't left yet when he exclaimed, "Their backs look so good together. I'm quite the matchmaker."
Ling Qingyue looked at the old man: "Will the two of them work out?"
