Once only the two of them were left in the private room, Cheng Yan's gaze became much sharper.
He looked Xie Linchuan up and down, as if assessing something.
Xie Linchuan let him look him over, and he was not afraid of him.
"Your looks are acceptable, so it's lucky that Jiang Tian took a liking to you. But being introverted isn't your strength. You shouldn't be so awkward around guests like this. If she takes you to other places in the future, are you going to continue acting like this?"
"No one will hand over your work for you. She brings you out to socialize, so you should be a very tactful person and not let others have a bad impression of her."
A surge of anger suddenly welled up inside Xie Linchuan.
This is the first time he has met Cheng Yan; the two of them are not familiar with each other at all.
Xie Linchuan didn't know him. Even though he was a celebrity, he didn't follow the entertainment industry at all and didn't even watch TV.
This person seems to be elevating himself while belittling others.
He's lecturing him like someone who's been there all along. What kind of role does he think he is?
He's just an ordinary friend, and Xie Linchuan won't give in to him.
"That's between her and me. I hope you won't interfere too much. We're boyfriend and girlfriend, and you're nothing to me."

But then he thought of something and took it back.
"You're asking who I am? Well, I'll just tell you straight—I'm her ex-boyfriend. We dated, and broke up amicably. Now I'm her friend, understand?"
As if struck by lightning, my mind went completely blank.
It took Xie Linchuan quite a while to regain his senses.
"...Are you her ex-boyfriend?"
"Yes, so just listen to what I'm saying. I'm not trying to harm you, but I want to make her life more perfect. You should be grateful to have been chosen by her, not let yourself drift aimlessly. Also, cherish your time. Do you think you can last very long...?"
At this point, Cheng Yan suddenly smiled again.
His smile carried an indescribable sadness.
The fierce and handsome appearance he had just displayed was now diluted by this sadness, and he was now a melancholy beauty.
Cheng Yan touched the cigarette pack again, but said nothing and didn't take out a cigarette.

I thought it would just be a normal meeting between friends.

Cheng Yan and Jiang Tian were having a lively conversation.

"Then I'll go to your company tomorrow to sign the contract. Remember to give me a higher endorsement fee. I even turned down another company for you."
Jiang Tian smiled and said, "Don't worry, the compensation will definitely be the best in the industry. Since I've already asked you, there's no way I can offer worse terms than you."
"That's good."
Cheng Yan then said to Jiang Tian, "Your little boyfriend still needs more guidance. He's a bit too reserved for social situations. When you take him out in the future, you need to teach him how to behave properly."
"He's too young, still in college, he can't compare to an old hand like you, so stop making fun of him. He was distracted during the second half of the meal, it made my heart ache."
Jiang Tian answered Cheng Yan calmly.
Her answer made Cheng Yan and Xie Linchuan look at her simultaneously.
Xie Linchuan thought he was very good at hiding his true intentions, but he didn't expect that he had already been seen through.
A hint of hurt flashed across Cheng Yan's eyes.
His smile carried a hint of insincerity: "Alright then, since you've already protected him, what can I say? My manager is still waiting downstairs, so I'll be going now."
As he spoke, he put on a mask, waved to them, and then left.
His back view is very dashing.
Xie Linchuan watched his retreating figure, knowing full well that his emotions were definitely not calm.
As an actor, how intense must Cheng Yan's emotions be when facing Jiang Tian that caused his acting skills to falter?
Anyone could see that Cheng Yan had deep feelings for Jiang Tian.
But they broke up.
