Jiang Tian took a nap and woke up to find her arms were numb.
Xiao Zijue had already disappeared.
She inwardly groaned; she was supposed to help the prince get up, but he was nowhere to be found.
Not long after, the old lady sent someone to call her over.
Xiao Zijue wouldn't let anyone else into the courtyard, and the old lady's people couldn't get in. She had no idea how far things had progressed between the two of them.
When Jiang Tian arrived at the old lady's side, she bowed respectfully to her.
The old lady was anxious and didn't have time for idle chatter; she went straight to asking her if it had gone well.
Jiang Tian dared not lie about such matters, and simply said in a low voice that she had never done so.
Upon hearing this, the old lady slammed her fist on the table in anger and scolded her for being useless.
Jiang Tian could only lower her head and listen to the reprimand.
After calming down for a while, the old lady guessed that her complexion was too pale, and perhaps the prince was not interested in her.
She pondered for a moment, deciding to continue observing whether the prince would visit other concubines' rooms.
However, to her disappointment, after staying in the front courtyard for a few days, Xiao Zijue counted the days and, in order to avoid being nagged by his mother, went to Jiang Tian's courtyard again.
Jiang Tian was intimidated when she saw Xiao Zijue because the old lady was standing behind him.
If they fail to consummate their relationship the first time, the old lady will surely scold her.
Xiao Zijue noticed that her expression wasn't good, so he asked her what had happened.
Unable to drive him away, and even more afraid to reveal the inside story, Jiang Tian could only shake her head with a wry smile.
Neither of them slept that night, each busy with their own things.
After staying up all night, Jiang Tian was so tired that she was irritable and frustrated. On top of that, she was scolded by the old lady. She was really depressed.
If only I could leave the Prince's mansion sooner.
Jiang Tian thought to herself silently.
But Xiao Zijue actually developed a habit of coming here every four or five days to stay up all night.
Jiang Tian's sleep was tormented every day, and she was truly suffering terribly.
She had nowhere to confide in, but the old lady became anxious.
Thinking that her son might not like Jiang Tian, he might be interested in other concubines.
But apart from Jiang Tian's courtyard, Xiao Zijue didn't go anywhere else.
It was clearly an attitude of exclusive favor.
Then we'll have to think about it carefully.
On this day, Jiang Tian was summoned to the old lady's room again.
The old lady, with a stern face, took out a bottle of medicine: "When the prince goes to your room again, put this medicine in the water."
Jiang Tian's eyes widened suddenly. After a moment's thought, she understood what the medicine was.
"Madam, please spare me. If the Prince notices anything amiss, I will be dead."
Jiang Tian immediately begged for mercy.
"Your life originally belonged to the Prince's Mansion. What's a worthless life worth?" The old lady's expression was extremely cold. "If you are unwilling to do it, I will send people to drive your old mother out of the Prince's Mansion and then beat you to death with sticks!"
Jiang Tianji had been working for the Prince's mansion for a long time. Back then, when her mother had nowhere to live, she begged the old lady to arrange a room for her on the estate.
These were her conditions for becoming a concubine.
Now that the old lady had brought up the old matter again, a bitter look flashed in Jiang Tian's eyes. She could only take the medicine, thank the old lady, and walk out the door.
Jiang Tian was restless all day.
But if she didn't do it, the old lady would not only take her life, but also her mother's.
Even though that old woman only loved her younger brother and wasn't good to her, and they lost contact after she became a concubine, she was still a family member's life.
Jiang Tian had no choice.
Her sighs and lamentations couldn't stop the passage of time.
Xiao Zijue came again the next day.
He ate dinner at his mother's house that night. He didn't know what his mother meant by serving him salty food at her age.
After reading for a while, Xiao Zijue said to Jiang Tian beside him, "Pour me a cup of tea."
Jiang Tian's hand trembled, and the needle almost pierced her finger.
She suppressed her guilt and poured Xiao Zijue a cup of tea.
Xiao Zijue drank it, but his thirst was not relieved. He frowned and said, "Get a bigger cup."
"yes……"
After drinking half a pot of tea, Xiao Zijue finally felt something was wrong with his body.
It was hot and dry, and there was something else I couldn't quite put my finger on...
Xiao Zijue's eyes instantly turned fierce, his gaze piercing Jiang Tian: "Did you do this?"
Jiang Tian opened her mouth: "I..."
Her body also seemed to be acting strangely.
But she didn't drink any water.
Xiao Zijue hated nothing more than others resorting to underhanded tactics.
His eyes blazed with fury: "Ru Feng, Ru Yu, throw her out! I don't want this concubine anymore!"
As soon as he finished speaking, two ghostly figures appeared.
Before Jiang Tian could struggle, her mouth was gagged, she was dragged out, and forcibly shoved into a carriage.
She didn't know where the two men were taking her.
The panic in my heart is about to become a reality.
Arriving at a desolate place, Ru Feng took out his knife.
Upon seeing the knife, Jiang Tian's heart stopped!
Just when she thought she was about to die, a figure suddenly appeared.
With a wave of his hand, the people behind him engaged in a fierce battle with Ru Feng and Ru Yu.
Jiang Tian found herself in a man's arms.
Her mind was in a state of confusion. She should have been grateful to have survived such an ordeal, but she felt so hot, and it was as if she was longing for something...
"This medicine cannot be countered by force, and the ingredients are hard to find. If you want to save her immediately, you need to... otherwise she will explode and die..."
Jiang Tian's consciousness was hazy, and she could only catch a few words.
She heard the door close and vaguely sensed someone approaching her.
Driven by longing, Jiang Tian threw herself at the man and tried to unbutton his clothes. Unable to do so, she burst into tears.
"Help me..."
Mo Chenyuan looked at the woman in front of him, her face flushed, her eyes brimming with tears, and a dark mist floating in the depths of her eyes.
