Xu Jingxiu doesn't like being disliked.
The servants followed Jiang Tian closely, occasionally sending messages to Xu Jingxiu.
Xu Jingxiu originally thought that a small lantern festival wouldn't last long.
However, he waited for more than an hour before a servant reported that the two men were planning to return home.
The Xu family did nothing but wait there for them to finish their tour, and they were already furious.
Xu Jingxiu was furious.
He was having a lot of bad luck, and his ex-wife had found a new husband and made him wait. No wonder he was furious.
So after stopping Jiang Tian, Xu Jingxiu shouted angrily.
He had already sent his servants to inquire, and found that the man Jiang Tian had married was only outstanding in appearance; none of the clever servants who knew all the high-ranking officials and nobles in the capital recognized him.
That would mean that Jiang Tian's current husband is just an unknown person.
Since he posed no threat to him, Xu Jingxiu became too lazy to hide his temperament.
He led a large group of trusted men and blocked the carriage on this deserted path, confident of victory.
Soon, a person stepped out of the carriage.
Many of Xu Jingxiu's servants carried lanterns, making it easy for them to spot a person.
However, upon seeing Jiang Tian, Xu Jingxiu couldn't help but pause for a moment in surprise.
In his memory, Jiang Tian was not much different from the person Wei Zhirou knew.
He married the daughter of an imperial censor in order to climb the ranks, so he naturally knew what kind of person Jiang Tian was.
Stiff, boring, even her appearance was extremely bland.
Xu Jingxiu didn't like her at all.
If he hadn't just gotten married then and felt that neglecting her would lead to gossip, Xu Jingxiu wouldn't have bothered sharing a room with her.
Fortunately, she soon found out she was pregnant, and Xu Jingxiu no longer had to do intimate things with that stepmother's face.
Now, so many years have passed, and Xu Jingxiu has beautiful wives and concubines by his side, having long forgotten about Jiang Tian.
Because he hadn't paid any attention to her, he was startled when he saw her again.
Jiang Tian seems to have undergone a complete transformation.
Now she has bright red lips and white teeth, almond-shaped eyes that are full of water, and her cheeks are flushed like peach blossoms.
Her facial features haven't changed much, but her overall demeanor and temperament have undergone a dramatic transformation. She looks much better now than before.
Xu Jingxiu sat on his horse, looking down at Jiang Tian with his eyes slightly narrowed.
He stared at Jiang Tian, his tone calm, yet seemingly deliberately concealing his emotions: "You are Jiang Tian?"
Jiang Tian said calmly, "General, you really have a bad memory. It hasn't been long, and you've already forgotten your own wife."
Xu Jingxiu ignored her words and went straight to his purpose: "Come with me to the Xu residence. You haven't seen your daughter in a long time. I'll give you a chance this time."
Jiang Tianjing looked at him quietly: "Knowing that she's doing well is enough. What difference does it make whether I see her or not?"
The two had only exchanged a few words when Xu Jingxiu was choked by Jiang Tian several times.
His face slowly darkened.
He looked around Jiang Tian: "I heard you got married again, why are you the only one who came out? Your husband is hiding in the carriage, is he trying to be a coward?"
Jiang Tian tugged at the corner of her mouth: "He's not afraid of you, but I'm afraid you'll affect our relationship. Our affairs don't need to involve him."
Xu Jingxiu said as if he had heard a joke: "Do you remember what you promised me when we got divorced? You said you wanted to spend the rest of your life in seclusion, and that's why I allowed you to divorce me. You found someone new just two years later... Is this how you repay me?"
