Lu Xiangnan didn't answer Zheng Feifei; his gaze met Jiang Tian's. His expression was calm on the surface, but a hint of grievance lingered within.
Jiang Tian couldn't hold back any longer and burst out laughing.
Zheng Feifei was completely bewildered and looked at Jiang Tian: "I was lecturing Lu Xiangnan, what are you laughing at!"
Under Zheng Feifei's gaze, Jiang Tian walked towards Lu Xiangnan, took his hand, and waved it in front of Zheng Feifei.
Zheng Feifei's expression at that moment was absolutely priceless.
After a long while, she opened her eyes wide and shouted, "What do you mean?!"
"As you can see, we're together. He slept in my room last night. You're my best friend, I certainly couldn't hide it from you."
Jiang Tian explained their relationship in just a few words.
Lu Xiangnan's heart started pounding again.
He didn't expect Jiang Tian to be so honest; he thought she would keep it from Zheng Feifei.
After all, she had treated him like a younger brother before, but now the two of them were sleeping together, so it was still a bit awkward.
But Jiang Tian's expression was so open and honest that it made Lu Xiangnan feel at ease.
He tried to hold back, but couldn't resist. He silently tightened his grip on Jiang Tian's hand and curled the corners of his lips into a smile.
Zheng Feifei looked stunned, as if she were in a daze.
After a long while, she finally managed to ask, "So, you two got together?"
"Why are you talking so rudely? We're just having a normal relationship. Neither of us is married, and we're both adults. Is it wrong for us to be together?"
This time, Zheng Feifei wasn't angry. She glared at Jiang Tian and shoved the fish into Lu Xiangnan's hand: "Go and prepare the fish. I'm going out to talk to Jiang Tian for a bit!"
Lu Xiangnan hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
He was a little afraid that Zheng Feifei would break them up.
But he knew in his heart that he was the lowest in status among the three, so he could only silently hold the fish and stand still.
Jiang Tian smiled and said, "Don't worry, I won't break up with you so easily. We've only talked for one night, and I can't bear to let go now."
She kissed Lu Xiangnan on the cheek, then dragged the dazed Zheng Feifei out the door.
She spoke lightly, but Lu Xiangnan felt uneasy.
Looking down at the delicious carp in his hand, Lu Xiangnan had no choice but to suppress his anxiety and carry the fish into the kitchen.
He kept listening to the sounds outside the door, and after about half an hour, the two finally returned.
"Is the fish already stewing?"
"Well, you said you wanted to drink fish soup a couple of days ago, and this fish that Sister Feifei brought is perfect for making soup, so I made it for you."
In order to please Jiang Tian, Lu Xiangnan's cooking skills improved more and more, and he could now easily cook a dish.
"So thoughtful."
Jiang Tian praised her.
Lu Xiangnan glanced at Jiang Tian, then at Zheng Feifei. It was a conversation between lovers, and with an outsider present, he couldn't bring himself to say it.
So he ran out of words.
Zheng Feifei seemed much calmer than when she first arrived.
She noticed the unease in Lu Xiangnan's eyes, sighed inwardly, and said fiercely, "Why are you looking at me? I'm not the kind of person who breaks up couples. Since Jiang Tian has chosen you and is willing to date you, then you should cherish it."
Lu Xiangnan's eyes lit up slightly.
Zheng Feifei is Jiang Tian's best friend. They have known each other for much longer than he has. He is afraid that his relationship with Jiang Tian will be affected because of his good friend's disapproval.
