Jiang Tian remained calm and nodded immediately: "Then you can play with me tomorrow."
She glanced at Liu Jue's exceptionally handsome face: "However, you should cover your face."
The next day, Jiang Yu and Wei Jinxiu received news that an old friend of Jiang Tian's was coming to visit her.
"I met him in the Northwest. Later, he came to live in the capital. Now that we've run into each other, I'll treat him to a meal. You two should go hiking or cook. Jiang Yu, please cook some of your signature dishes for dinner. Don't embarrass me."
Jiang Yu nodded.
She glanced at the bearded man standing not far away, admiring the scenery, hesitated, and then kept quiet.
Her sister is quite particular about looks when choosing a man; this guy is probably just a friend.
After explaining things to the mother and daughter, Jiang Tian gave the guards a final instruction before taking Liu Jue sightseeing for a day.
Liu Jue increasingly felt that Jiang Tian was a remarkable person; at least, he felt very comfortable around her.
"Alas, if my wife had married a few years later, I would definitely have brought you into the palace so that you could keep me company."
Jiang Tian seemed oblivious to the deeper meaning in his words, and simply smiled gently: "No matter when, it's good to meet someone."
Liu Jue was taken aback, then burst into laughter. He glanced at Jiang Tian but said nothing.
A short day passed, and in the evening, Jiang Yu cooked all the rabbits and pheasants that the two of them had hunted into exquisite dishes.
Liu Jue ate with great relish.
Jiang Tian sat at that table with him and would occasionally serve him some food.
Liu Jue wasn't afraid of being poisoned; he would eat whatever Jiang Tian put on his plate.
The two of them ate almost all the dishes on the table.
Liu Jue was somewhat amazed by Jiang Tian's appetite: "Madam can really eat!"
The women he had seen all ate only until they were three-tenths full, their waists slender and graceful. But Jiang Tian ate from a large bowl without any embarrassment, and after finishing one bowl, she would ask for another.
"If you go hungry as a child, and you can't get enough to eat when you grow up, then you'll be letting down all the suffering you endured as a child."
Jiang Tian explained to him with a smile.
Liu Jue gave her a thumbs up: "A person of true feelings."
It rained in the village that night.
Liu Jue is returning to the palace tomorrow, and in the middle of the night he insisted that Jiang Tian take him to see the rain.
Jiang Tian then took him there.
This estate is in a superb location, nestled against the mountains and beside the water, with hot springs nearby. Listening to the rain at midnight is a wonderful experience.
Liu Jue and Jiang Tian were sheltering from the rain under the eaves of a house. He turned his head to look at Jiang Tian's beautiful face and suddenly sighed.
"What should I do? I'm so engrossed in looking at my wife."
Jiang Tian smiled again: "The Emperor's handsomeness is truly unparalleled in the world."
Liu Jue laughed out loud: "Indeed, the late emperor once said that my face has a powdery look. What does my wife think?"
Jiang Tian carefully examined Liu Jue's face: "I heard that the late emperor did not read many books. He probably wanted to praise Your Majesty, but he couldn't express himself well."
The late emperor came from humble origins and was not well-educated; many people know this.
Liu Jue laughed until tears streamed down his face: "You really know how to talk."
Jiang Tian smiled but remained silent.
After listening to the rain for a while, they went back together.
Since both of them were at the estate, they did not bring any other servants with them.
They soon arrived at their lodgings.
"Then I'll head back now."
Liu Jue's expression was unreadable. He crossed his arm to block Jiang Tian, then suddenly leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Does Madam know what the seven emotions and six desires are really like?"
Jiang Tian did not avoid him, but instead smiled and looked at him, saying, "I don't know."
Liu Jue's lips curled slightly, and as the two looked at each other, they seemed to have reached an agreement on some point.
With a smile in his eyes, he continued, "Does Madam need someone to warm her bed tonight?"
