For a daughter like that, mediocrity would be an understatement.
He was not good-looking, had a sullen and dull temper, and looked dark and thin. Jiang's mother didn't want to look at him a second time after just one glance.
She didn't want to accept the facts, so how could she possibly accept her biological daughter who looked so much like her when she was young?
Seeing her reminded Jiang's mother of her past as a village girl, and she would never accept it!
So she cried and shouted, determined never to let her daughter return to the Jiang family.
The Jiang family also felt that they had invested too many resources in Jiang Hanyan, only to suffer educational losses in return. Coupled with the emotional bond they had with her, they readily accepted Jiang's mother's choice.
But they couldn't really ignore their daughter, Jiang Tian. So they asked for her opinion and sent her to another city to live alone.
Over the years, Jiang's father had suggested that Jiang Tian come back for the New Year, but Jiang's mother always refused, and even relentlessly prevented others from finding out about Jiang Tian.
Gradually, they stopped treating her as family.
If it weren't for Jiang's father still cherishing their bloodline and calling Jiang Tian to his hospital room when he was critically ill, giving her a share of the company, Jiang Tian's name might have been deliberately forgotten.
However, to be honest, this is the first time Jiang Tian has ever visited since she left home at the age of eighteen.
Unfortunately, this was a trap; no one had any intention of helping her.
Jiang's father sat in his patriarchal seat, looking at Jiang Tian with a stern expression: "Tell me, what exactly did you say to Old Master Lu? The marriage agreement between the two families has lasted for so many years, and they just want to break it off like that? Is there some hidden reason behind this?"
Jiang Tian looked completely innocent: "Asking me is pointless. You should be asking Jiang Hanyan instead."
"She and Lu Mingyan have been dating as engaged for so many years. As the person involved, shouldn't she know whether there are cracks in their relationship?"
Jiang Hanyan suddenly stood up and looked at Jiang Tian: "You still dare to deny it? You must have seduced Ming Yan. When he came to the program team to find me, you were already entangled with him!"
In the Jiang family, Jiang Hanyan is treated like a princess, and her princess syndrome is on full display.
A person's intelligence isn't something they can simply claim to be. If Jiang Hanyan didn't have so many people backing her up, her willful nature would have made it impossible for her to survive in the world long ago.
Upon hearing this, Jiang's mother glared at Jiang Tian fiercely.
She despises women who break up other people's families the most, because she has also suffered from them.
Xie Yun'an subtly blocked Jiang's mother's view.
Seeing Xie Yun'an, that pretty boy, Jiang's mother was even more furious!
"You're with that pretty boy, openly inseparable from him. What does the Lu family see in you? Go tell them you want to elope with this pretty boy. Don't let them think about your marriage to Lu Mingyan. You're not good enough for the Lu family!"
Xie Yun'an frowned, surprised that a man nearing seventy could be so mean.
As an outsider, he made a concerted effort to listen and extract useful information.
So Jiang Tian was going to marry into the Lu family... His heart sank.
“I’ve already talked to him, but the old man doesn’t believe me. He says I’m just putting on an act and that I’ll settle down once I marry his grandson. What can I do? Why don’t you go and talk to them for me again?”
Jiang Tian acted as if she were a dead pig that wasn't afraid of boiling water, which made Jiang's mother even more furious and wished she could tear her face off.
Jiang Hanyan was so angry she almost fainted.
