Ye Lin closed his eyes, concealing the vulnerability within them, and said, "It was my father. He poisoned their food. After my mother ate that food, her health deteriorated day by day. The imperial physician who treated my mother said that she could live for another month, as could my father."
Xu Nian's eyes widened suddenly, and pity welled up in them.
