With Li Chen's support, Xu Nian quickly obtained her own laboratory.
The researchers were unhappy that Xu Nian had become their boss at such a young age and didn't listen to her orders at all. They felt that she was only standing there because of Li Chen.
Xu Nian laughed it off, saying that when others doubt you, don't hesitate to show your strength and fight back.
"Niannian, these are some level-two zombies we just captured." Li Chen led a few people to carry a cage into the laboratory.
"Is there anything special about them?" Xu Nian observed the zombies that were bound by chains and found that some were thinner and smaller, some were stronger and more robust, and some had longer limbs.
“They’ve evolved the same abilities as us. This one, being the biggest, has twice the defense of the other zombies. This smaller one is strangely fast; several members of my squad were ambushed by it. Luckily, we had your zombie serum, or we would have lost a few more people.” Li Chen spoke of the situation outside with a grave expression.
"What's going on here?" Xu Nian pointed to the one with the longer limbs.
"It has an extremely strong jumping ability, just like a frog. It can jump onto walls and rooftops in an instant. It took me quite a bit of effort to catch it." Li Chen looked at Xu Nian with a boastful expression.
"Thank you for your hard work. You can go out now. Keep an eye out for a little fat pig near the base. If you see one, bring it to me." Xu Nian pushed Li Chen out of the lab, closed the lab door, and started working.
She dissected and studied the zombies repeatedly for an unknown period of time, and finally made progress on the superpower awakening potion she wanted.
"What's missing?" Xu Nian pondered, looking at the half-finished product in her hand.
"Niannian, you haven't come out for a whole day and night. Open the door and come out for dinner," Li Chen called out from the laboratory door.
Xu Nian opened the door and her eyes lit up when she saw Li Chen. "Li Chen, draw a vial of blood for me."
"You eat first. It's just one tube of blood, I'll draw it myself." Li Chen shoved the thermos into Xu Nian's hands, found the syringe and equipment for drawing blood, and drew a full tube of blood.
Xu Nian finished her meal quickly and began to study Li Chen's blood.
"Niannian, what are you making?" Li Chen stood to the side, watching curiously.
“A power-awakening potion. Once we develop this, everyone will be able to face this apocalypse.” Xu Nian turned around and smiled, leaving Li Chen stunned.
"With the drug's release, there might be some trouble. Li Chen, you'd better manage the base well!" This was also a major reason why Xu Nian stayed with Li Chen.
The medicine must not fall into the hands of individuals, otherwise it will become a murder weapon instead of a tool to end the apocalypse.
"Don't worry, Niannian, leave everything to me." Li Chen finally understood how ambitious Xu Nian's goal was; she wanted to end this apocalypse.
"Ah Chen, you go back first. You'll be busy once the potion is developed." Xu Nian kissed the man's chin and waved him away.
"Niannian, the little fat pig you mentioned is already at the villa. Don't be so busy that you forget to eat and sleep. Remember to eat on time." Li Chen said this before reluctantly leaving the laboratory.
"Okay, okay." Xu closed the lab door without even looking up and continued his research.
When the finished product was ready, Xu Nian finally smiled with relief and walked out of the laboratory with the medicine.
At the gate, Li Chen was standing there with several people. He knew from Xu Nian's smiling face that she had succeeded.
"This is a superpower awakening potion. Is anyone willing to try it?" With the support of a scientific research prodigy, Xu Nian was confident that the potion would be successful, but confidence and seeing the result are two different things.
She was also looking forward to the effects of the medicine.
“Miss Xu, I’m willing to give it a try.” The man took the medicine and drank it down.
Under everyone's tense yet expectant gaze, he actually fell asleep sitting on the ground.
"Niannian, is this normal?" Li Chen stood next to Xu Nian and asked. It wasn't that he suspected there was something wrong with Xu Nian's medicine, but he was worried that Xu Nian couldn't accept the failure of the medicine.
"Use your mental power to observe him." Since Xu Nian had spoken, Li Chen naturally did as she said.
When he saw the person's bodily functions rapidly changing, his face lit up with joy. "Niannian, you succeeded."
"Here's the data. Give it to the researchers and tell them to hurry up and produce the ability-awakening potion. I'm going back to catch up on my sleep." Xu Nian yawned, handed the documents to Li Chen, and then became a hands-off manager.
"Niannian, go back and rest. Leave everything here to me." Li Chen was overjoyed. With this potion, the base would have a completely new look.
Xu Nian left the laboratory and returned to the villa, where she saw a little fat pig lying at the door.
"Yuanbao, I've successfully developed the potion!" Xu Nian happily shared the news with Yuanbao.
"Host is amazing! I knew you could do it!" Yuanbao danced with joy, after all, the superpower awakening potion was the key to all mankind's evolution into superhumans.
"Yuanbao, I'm so tired these days, I'm going back to sleep now. Play by yourself, but don't go too far." Xu Nian put Yuanbao down and went back to her room to sleep.
"Host, you can sleep peacefully. I'll guard the door for you." Yuanbao lay down again at the villa entrance.

Xu Nian slept very soundly, and in her hazy state, she sensed that Li Chen had returned.
She wasn't fully conscious when he picked her up, and she watched as he obediently nestled on his shoulder.
"Ah Chen, why are you in such a hurry this time?" Xu Nian grumbled twice, still trying her best to cooperate with the man.
"Ah Chen, there's something on you that smells really good. I'm a little dizzy from the smell."
