"Don't worry, brother. With me here, it's alright even if things get a little out of place," Xie Zhan said with a smile, which inexplicably put people at ease.
Xie Xun thought for a moment, nodded and said, "Alright, then I'll have to trouble you to take care of Fengguang. She'll have a headache when she wakes up the next day after drinking, so I'll trouble you to prepare a bowl of hangover soup for her."
"I will, so you don't need to worry, brother."
Xie Xun gave a few more instructions, and considering that Xie Yaoyao was still waiting outside the palace gate, he didn't stay long before leaving.
Xie Zhan turned and entered the room, where he saw the girl sitting on the bed with a blanket in her arms. Her head was nodding and her body was swaying slightly, as if she might fall asleep on the bed again at any moment.
Seeing Xie Zhan approach, she tilted her head and muttered discontentedly, "Where have you been?"
"I just went outside for a walk." Xie Zhan sat down on the edge of the bed, pulled her into his arms along with the blanket, and gently asked, "What's wrong with Feng Guang?"
"How could you go outside? Don't you know you're supposed to sleep with me?" She glared at him angrily, looking furious.
Xie Zhan knew she was angry again, but he patiently apologized, "It was my fault. I shouldn't have gone outside. I'll sleep with Feng Guang now, okay?"
"Hmph!" She got out of his arms, fell back onto the bed, turned over, and fell asleep facing the wall again.
After a while, someone lay down next to her, placed a hand on her waist, and pulled her into a warm and strong embrace.
She felt hot and shifted restlessly a few times, but eventually, because she was too tired, she slowly fell asleep.
The sun rises and sets; it's another sunny day.
Feng Guang opened her eyes, pressed her aching head, and sat up in bed. Looking at the unfamiliar room, she felt a little lost. After thinking for a long time, she remembered that Xie Zhan had gotten her drunk with a glass of wine... and then, she couldn't remember what happened next.
Just as Fengguang was reminiscing, Xie Zhan pushed open the door and walked in. He was carrying a bowl of soup and sat down on the edge of the bed with a smile on his face. He asked with concern, "How are you feeling, Fengguang?"
"Not so much." She said this lightly and turned her head to the other side.
Xie Zhan first put the medicine on the table, and then helplessly rubbed her head, saying, "Feng Guang is still angry with me."
"No."
"Just as I thought, Feng Guang only becomes exceptionally honest when he's drunk."
"No!" This time she raised her head, her voice louder and more defiant.
Xie Zhan saw that she had raised her face, so he lowered his head slightly, got closer to her face, looked at her carefully for a long time, gently stroked her face with one hand, and smiled: "Even if Feng Guang is being hypocritical, she is still cute."
Her face flushed, and she shrank back without saying a word. She told herself that Xie Zhan was just that kind of person. He had such a charming and gentle way of treating younger people, so it was just a normal thing that he seemed to be treating her exceptionally well.
Thinking of this, she lost all her shyness. Instead of backing down, she moved forward a step and stared at him. It seemed she wasn't going to give up so easily.
Xie Zhan's smile deepened, and he leaned in a little closer. Just a tiny bit more and he would be able to kiss her lips. He could clearly see her eyes shimmering with shyness, but she still didn't pull away.
