The only person closest to Lilith was Feng Guang. Under everyone's gaze, Feng Guang knelt down and helped Lilith up, asking, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine..." Lilith quickly stood up straight, then said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Your Highness, I came to offer you a toast... I think I messed things up."
"It's alright, you should hurry up and bandage your wound..." Feng Guang had just finished speaking when she felt a sharp pain on the back of her hand. She looked down and saw that a few drops of Lilith's blood had dripped onto the back of her hand, and at that moment, the blood-stained skin was burning with pain.
Lilith had only suffered a minor injury, but seeing Feng Guang's pained expression, she asked with concern, "Your Highness, what happened?"
"Wendy?" Even the King and Queen came over with concern.
"I..." Feng Guang hugged her hands tightly, and she said in a barely normal tone, "I'm a little sleepy now, so I'll go back and rest first."
After saying that, Feng Guang hurriedly left the main hall and ran back to her bedroom. Once in her room, she quickly put her hands into a basin of cold water, hoping to relieve the burning sensation. However, even though the blood on the back of her hands had dried, the pain in her hands did not lessen at all.
Just as Feng Guang was in pain and anxious, a hand suddenly pulled her hand out of the water. Feng Guang looked up and saw that it was Herman who had appeared out of nowhere.
Hermann held Fengguang's hand in one hand and gently stroked her cheek with the other, whispering, "Don't be afraid..."
Perhaps it was Herman's appearance that calmed her down, and Feng Guang suddenly felt much more at peace. The hand he held in hers emitted a faint light, and she suddenly felt the pain on the back of her hand disappear. Feng Guang blinked in confusion, "Herman?"
What exactly happened?
“Wendy.” Herman pulled her into his arms. “It was just a little coincidence, don’t worry about it.”
Feng Guang looked down at her hands again. There were no marks left on her fair skin. The burning pain she had just felt seemed like an illusion.
“Hermann…this is very strange…”
“But this isn’t important.” Herman carried Fengguang to bed. He didn’t want to do anything else to her today, he just wanted to comfort her. “It’s late, Wendy, let’s go to sleep.”
Feng Guang knew that she could never get the information Herman didn't want to say, but she also understood one thing: Herman would never harm her.
Fengguang closed her eyes in Herman's arms, curling her whole body up in his embrace, only then could she feel the greatest sense of security.
When she woke up the next day, Herman was no longer by her side. She sat on the bed in a daze and realized that she had forgotten to ask him how Richard's matter had been handled.
But without even asking, her talkative maid in her bedchamber would bring it up herself, "Your Highness, I heard that Prince Richard fell into the water yesterday."
"Fell into the water?" Feng Guang looked at himself in the mirror and naturally asked the question.
“Yes, Prince Richard fell into the water, and it is said that a lady named Ariel saved him.” The maid said while combing the prince’s hair. “Prince Richard was barely alive at the time. If it weren’t for that lady named Ariel, he would have been in real trouble.”
Feng Guang's lips twitched. Had Herman made Richard's drowning incident repeat itself?
