"Perfect?" He scoffed. "Do you mean his face is flawless, or his kind heart that makes him seem perfect to you?"
Feng Guang sensed the sarcasm in his words, and she said calmly, "At least before I knew about your terrible personality, I thought you were perfect."
He froze for a moment, then moved his lips, "It turns out that you really have a problem judging people. Xia Fengguang, is Han Qi really so upright and honorable in your eyes?"
Is the answer to this question important?
He chuckled, "The answer itself isn't important, but how he answers you is what matters. Don't you think he's perfect? Why don't you ask him why I was born into this world?"
He took a step back and released his grip on her hand.
The intense pressure around her vanished, and Feng Guang's body relaxed slightly. She looked at the boy in front of her, pursed her lips, and said, "I'll ask him."
"I'm looking forward to... whether you'll still have the same thoughts when we meet Xia again." Han Chen's eyes curved slightly, as if he were smiling, but there was no smile in his eyes at all.
He turned and left.
Feng Guang stood still for a long time without moving. After a while, she couldn't help but clutch the hem of her skirt and walk in another direction.
In the best hospital in City A, a quiet man stood by the window, gazing at the pot of brilliantly blooming baby's breath. He smiled slightly, as if he saw something else that could make him happy through the pure white flowers.
Just then, there was a knock on the ward door. He turned around and said, "Come in." When he saw that it was Feng Guang who walked in, he was surprised for a moment. "Feng Guang, aren't you supposed to have class today?"
"I...I wanted to come see you." She slowly walked to his side, forcing a smile.
His eyes narrowed slightly, adding a touch of alluring charm. "Don't worry about my health. You should focus on your studies at school."
“Classes are so boring…” she couldn’t help but complain again, “The thing I hate most is going to school.”
He reached out and touched the top of her head, and said softly, "Being able to go to school is a very good thing."
Feng Guang didn't really like her touching his head, because it made her seem like a disobedient child in his eyes. But hearing his words made her feel sad. His health was poor, and he probably couldn't go to school. She remembered that he once said he missed his former self. Now that she thought about it, he just meant that he envied Han Chen for being able to do whatever he wanted.
He noticed her sudden gloom, and a hint of warmth appeared in his clear, smiling eyes. "Don't feel sorry for me. Compared to those displaced people outside, I'm doing very well now."
“But…” Feng Guang asked, puzzled, “You’re such a good person, why should you have to endure this pain?”
“Fengguang, since there are doctors in the world, there must be patients. I am just one of them. There is no cause and effect relationship, and there is no reason. Because this is who I am.” His tone was calm, without a trace of complaint about the injustice of fate. Or perhaps it could be said that he had long since accepted his fate and regarded this illness as a part of his life.
