Feng Guang and Yun Ji readily sat down on the sofa. She glanced at the surrounding furnishings; there were many photos of Zhao Yi and Tang Xiaole on the walls and tables. She picked up a photo from the coffee table. The girl in the photo was smiling sweetly and happily. She suddenly sighed, "Life is such a fragile thing. Who could have imagined that someone who was so happy one moment would be a cold corpse the next?"
"So, since ancient times, haven't there always been many people who seek immortality and ascension to heaven?"
She glanced at Yun Ji, whose eyes were captivating with a smile, and said, "I was lamenting the fleeting nature of life. Who was talking to you about cultivating immortality?"
Aren't these two things essentially the same?
"Yeah, I haven't even said how good your acting is yet. Your sad look just now almost made me believe it was real."
Yun Ji modestly said, "My acting skills are just so-so, after all, I did spend some time in the drama club."
When she saw Zhao Yi coming out of the kitchen, she mouthed three words: Shameless.
He mouthed back: "You flatter me."
Feng Guang was furious with this shameless man.
At this moment, Zhao Yi came out with two glasses of water. "I'm sorry, I've been busy with experiments and research these past few days and forgot to buy tea. I can only offer you both plain water."
"It's alright." Yun Ji quickly put on a sad and sympathetic look. "I heard you've rarely come out of the lab these days. Don't push yourself too hard. I believe the president in heaven wouldn't be at ease."
"Thank you for your concern, senior. I know what to do and I won't let myself collapse." Zhao Yi's eyes dimmed considerably. "Before, Xiao Le always reminded me not to work too hard and exhaust myself. Now that she's not supervising me, I'll keep pushing myself to the limit so she can rest assured."
Looking at the haggard-looking man, Feng Guang suddenly felt even more sorry for him. It is said that men who have lost love easily evoke sympathy, but men who have lost their lovers evoke even more sympathy. She was about to say a few words of comfort when she caught a glimpse of the curtains being blown by the wind out of the corner of her eye. Her face was blank as she turned to Yun Ji beside her and leaned closer to him. She even unconsciously grabbed his hand, with such force that her nails were digging into the flesh of his palm.
Yun Ji sadly patted the back of her head, "Junior, don't be too sad. You're only making Zhao Yi feel worse."
Zhao Yi hadn't understood Yu Fengguang's sudden action, but after hearing Yun Ji's words, he forced a smile and said, "Yes, one must be strong to live."
Feng Guang didn't care whether he was strong or not! She only knew that she would never turn back. Since she had her back to Zhao Yi, she didn't need to act. She silently said to Yun Ji, "What should we do?"
Yun Ji blinked calmly, signaling her not to be nervous. He had also seen it; there was a female ghost in a white dress by the curtains. He understood that Feng Guang's fear wasn't because she had seen a female ghost, but because she had seen a vengeful ghost, and this ghost wasn't Tang Xiaole.
The female ghost stood in the corner, silently staring at the three people in the living room. Her face... or rather, it could no longer be called a face, because it was a bloody mess, and even her features were indistinguishable, making people shudder. Being stared at by her would send chills down their spines.
The scenery was both frightening and disgusting.
