The wounded assassin, seemingly oblivious to his own mortality, declared, "In our line of work, it's either him or me. Someone has to die. It's a life of constant danger. If I die, it's my fate; if I live, it's my luck."
The assassin spoke with such magnanimity that it made him seem like a person of conscience and integrity.
Feng Guang leaned against Nan Ke's chest and clicked her tongue twice. "So, you're absolutely not going to tell us who the buyer is?"
“The rules cannot be broken. You can kill me with one sword.” The assassin looked at Nan Ke again. “I have seen your portrait and I know who you are. You are the famous Sword Immortal in the martial arts world. If I can kill you, I can gain both fame and fortune. If I die by your sword, then I am inferior in skill and have nothing to say.”
"Sword Immortal..." Feng Guang looked up in surprise and said with delight, "Are you really the legendary Sword Immortal of the martial world?"
"I don't know if I'm a sword immortal, I've forgotten." Nan Ke answered Feng Guang's question honestly. A sword immortal should have a sword, but he didn't have one.
Even if Nan Ke's answer wasn't really an answer, with so many assassins corroborating it, she could indeed believe that Nan Ke was the "Sword Immortal" of the martial arts world. She had already prepared herself to win him over, even if this Nan Ke wasn't the one she was trying to seduce. But unexpectedly, she stumbled upon the perfect person—he really was the one she was trying to seduce!
Feng Guang was in an extremely good mood. She jumped up and kissed the corner of his lips, saying with a grin, "Nan Ke, it's so wonderful to have met you!"
Nan Ke didn't understand why she was so happy, but if she was happy, then he was happy too. He savored the kiss Feng Guang had just shared, and the sensations in his body reminded him that he could have more. However, considering that there was still someone lying on the ground, he held back for the time being.
Nan Ke smoothed his slicked-back hair with one hand, glancing at the assassin out of the corner of his eye, and asked with a smile, "Since you're unwilling to talk, then you can leave your life behind."
"Wait." Feng Guang grasped Nan Ke's hand and said, "Don't kill him yet."
Without hesitation, Nan Ke answered with a "yes".
Feng Guang then looked at the assassin. "I know your line of work has its rules, and your rules are to do things for money. But we don't want to kill you now. Instead, we're going to give you a big job. How about it?"
The assassin frowned. "What do you mean by that?"
"I don't care who paid you to kill Nan Ke," Feng Guang laughed. "But I can pay ten times more to have you kill that person. So, are you willing to take this job?"
The assassin paused, clearly not expecting Feng Guang to come up with this method. He hesitated for a moment before saying, "How can I take on another murder job when I haven't fulfilled the client's requirements?"
"Does this conflict with your rules?" Feng Guang asked crisply. "You don't have any rules that say I can't take on two jobs at the same time, do you?"
"Indeed, there isn't..."
"Then that makes things easier, doesn't it?" Feng Guang said with a smile, holding Nan Ke's arm. "Generally speaking, if you take on two jobs, you'll handle the one that's easier to manage first, isn't that normal? Based on your intuition, do you think my job is easier to complete, or that unknown person's job is easier to complete?"
