Nan Ke simply smiled and said, "Buy them all."
The shopkeeper quickly seated the two guests at the table, placing the pastries that Feng Guang had carefully selected on the table one by one, and then jokingly said, "Young lady, your husband really dotes on you."
Ordering so much food at once would be difficult for two people to finish, which would be a waste of money. However, the owner didn't even frown when he looked at this young man.
“He is not my husband…” Feng Guang explained, but the shop owner had already gone back to doing business and could not hear her.
Nan Ke simply pushed the plates in front of her and said, "Eat."
Seeing his smile, Feng Guang's heart skipped a beat. She quickly pulled her hand away from his grasp, her gaze unfocused, and said, "Thank you for treating me to something to eat..."
"No need to thank me." Nan Ke rested one hand on the table, propped his chin up, and looked at her with a smile.
Feeling even more embarrassed by his gaze, Feng Guang's ears turned red. After a long pause, she finally managed to stammer, "Aren't you hungry?"
"I'm not hungry yet," Nan Ke said gently. "Isn't Miss Fengguang hungry?"
He was staring at her like that... so she felt too embarrassed to eat.
Feng Guang glanced at him again, and seeing that his expression remained unchanged, she looked away, carefully reached out a hand, and picked up a rabbit-shaped pastry. She held it in her hand for a long time, but did not take a bite. Instead, she frowned.
Nan Ke asked, "What's wrong?"
"It looks so cute... I don't even want to eat it." Feng Guang looked at the pastry in her hand with great distress. It just goes to show that food that looks too good to eat is no good. Now she felt like she didn't know where to start eating it.
Nan Ke chuckled again, "It's just food, and you can't even bear to part with it?"
"Hmm..." Feng Guang nodded, looking aggrieved.
Nan Ke seemed to sigh, and he smiled helplessly, "Since Feng Guang is reluctant to eat, how about we order some other things?"
"No need..." They've already treated her to so much expensive food; she'd feel bad if she ordered anything else.
With her eyes closed, Feng Guang stuffed the entire pastry into her mouth. She chewed it a few more times and swallowed it before patting her chest and opening her eyes, looking as if she had just finished something important.
Seeing how adorable she looked, Nan Ke couldn't help but smile again and handed her a bowl, saying, "Don't choke."
"Thank you..." Feng Guang took the bowl and drank some water. She had thought it was water, but after tasting a slightly sweet and sour flavor, she asked, "What is this?"
Nan Ke took her bowl and placed it on the table. With the pad of his other hand, he gently wiped the liquid from the corner of her mouth and said in a low voice, "This is sweet wine."
"Sweet wine..." Feng Guang was taken aback, then let out a "burp!"
Her face flushed rapidly, and her body temperature rose. She hiccuped again, slapped the table, and stood up unsteadily, declaring with heroic spirit, "Give this princess ten more bowls of wine!"
Nan Ke was slightly taken aback. He stood up and supported her to prevent her from swaying and falling to the ground. When he saw her face flushed and her eyes looking at him with a dazed expression, his heart couldn't help but stir again.
“She’s drunk…” Nan Ke covered her cheek with one hand, a smile on his lips and a light in his eyes.
He never expected that she would get drunk from just a sip of sweet wine, and he never expected that she would be so moving when she was drunk.
