For the rest of the journey, Fu Xiang remained quiet, probably because he realized he couldn't get anything out of Feng Guang, so he stopped trying to find topics to talk about.
When they arrived at Black Wind Stronghold, Feng Guang was exhausted. When they walked to Mo Qing's residence, she was already being carried on his back. Fu Xiang had already gone in another direction when he entered Black Wind Stronghold, so at this moment, under the evening sunset, only the two of them remained.
Feng Guang lay lazily on his back and said, "If you feel tired, I can get down and walk by myself."
"You're very light." Mo Qing walked unhurriedly along the path bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun. He was neither flushed nor out of breath, appearing completely calm and collected. "We'll be there soon."
"Mmm..." On his back, smelling his reassuring scent, she suddenly felt a strong sense of security and couldn't help but close her eyes and begin to doze off.
A short while later, Mo Qing heard her soft, long breaths. He knew she was asleep, so he moved even more quietly and steadily. When they returned to the courtyard, he put her in his room, covered her with a blanket, and sat by the bed to admire her sleeping face for a while before going out to cook dinner.
Feng Guang didn't open her eyes until the moon was high in the sky. She stayed in bed for a while, watching the night outside the window, until the man who came into the room picked her up and she sat up. She rested her chin on his shoulder and yawned contentedly. "Did I sleep for a long time?"
"Not long, not even two hours have passed." Mo Qing raised her hand, smoothing her slightly disheveled hair, and asked softly, "Have you had enough sleep?"
"Hmm... but I think I had a really bad nightmare..." Feng Guang's body suddenly trembled, and she snuggled closer into his arms. "I dreamt... about the cemetery we saw today, there were two tombstones with my parents' names engraved on them..."
Mo Qing's hand, which was on her head, froze. After a moment, he patted her back and gently comforted her, "It's just a dream. Dreams and reality are opposites. Don't worry about it."
“I’m just scared… I don’t know why, but after seeing that cemetery, I can’t forget it, and when I’m alone, I can’t help but think about it.” A look of confusion appeared in her eyes. “I wonder, why are there so many blank tombstones, and why are there rag dolls on them?”
“With me here, you don’t need to think about these things.” Mo Qing smiled. “Hasn’t Feng Guang always wanted to marry me? Then let’s think about how our wedding should be held, what kind of betrothal gifts you want, and what kind of wedding dress you want.”
Feng Guang looked up excitedly and said, "Have you decided when to marry me?"
"Not bad." He chuckled. "It'll be on the fifteenth of a month from now. That's an auspicious day, isn't it?"
"Okay!" She nodded happily, and even if he said he would marry her in a few days, she would have no objection.
Seeing her reaction, Mo Qing found it adorable and couldn't help but kiss her again before saying, "But I need to leave for a while before we get married."
"Leave?" Feng Guang paused. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to find something. It won't take long. Fengguang can stay at Black Wind Stronghold and wait for me." He raised his hand to stroke her cheek. "I'll be back soon."
"You said you wouldn't be gone for too long... but how long is that?"
"It takes anywhere from three days to seven or eight days."
"No!" she suddenly became emotional, clinging to him tightly and saying, "If you leave, you won't come back!"
