"Miss Xia, why don't you just keep guessing?" Xiao Baishu smiled. "I'll take my leave now."
Xiao Baishu didn't wait for the scenery to linger; he turned and left.
"Hero Xiao..." Feng Guang called out, and a dark shadow suddenly flashed before her eyes, but when she looked again, there was no dark figure, as if it were her imagination.
But at that moment, Xiao Baishu, who was about to leave, stopped.
Feng Guang was secretly delighted, wondering if this person had changed his mind and was willing to talk to her about the affairs of the martial world. But before she could step forward, she suddenly sensed that something was wrong with the atmosphere.
Xiao Baishu raised his hand to cover his chest, his brows furrowing instantly. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, as if he were enduring immense pain.
Could it be that he has some hidden illness?
Feng Guang paused for a moment, then stepped forward and asked with concern, "Master Xiao, are you alright?"
Xiao Baishu did not answer, but his legs gave way and he knelt on the ground. He looked pained and made muffled groans.
Feng Guang finally realized something was wrong, and she quickly stepped forward to support his hand, "Hero Xiao..."
When Feng Guang touched Xiao Baishu's arm, she stopped talking abruptly, her expression blank, as if she had lost her ability to react for a moment.
The surrounding environment seemed to have changed at that moment.
"Come on, Fengguang, these are your favorite pastries." Wang Ci walked up to her with two plates of pastries in his hands.
Xia Chao followed Wang Ci over, carrying a bowl of chicken soup. "Here's your favorite chicken leg too..."
Surrounded by the beautiful scenery were long tables, already laden with all sorts of delicious food, which made her smile with satisfaction.
But suddenly, thunder rumbled.
Thunder and lightning shattered bowl after bowl of food, and the fragrant food fell to the ground, seemingly disappearing one by one as it burrowed into the earth.
Feng Guang watched in a panic as plates of food disappeared before her eyes, and then she burst into tears, heartbroken.
"My osmanthus cake... my chicken leg... and my candied hawthorn... please don't leave me..." Feng Guang cried as she shouted. Wiping away her tears, she opened her eyes again and suddenly realized that there was no table or food around her, nor were her parents.
It was pitch black; she was still in this secluded courtyard of the Hidden Military Office.
Was that just... a hallucination?
Feng Guang's tears were still wet on her face, but she didn't have time to think about it. When she came to her senses, she found that Xiao Baishu next to her was pale and she could tell from his rapid breathing that he was about to suffocate.
"Master Xiao... what's wrong with you!?" Feng Guang shook his shoulders, but no matter how loudly she shouted, Xiao Baishu's eyes seemed unfocused, as if nothing existed in them.
But his face was already terribly pale.
Could it be... that he too is trapped in a terrifying hallucination?
Recalling her own strange behavior, Feng Guang immediately realized that Xiao Baishu might also be hallucinating. Unable to wake him, she frantically patted his face, saying, "Great Hero Xiao, wake up! What you're seeing is all fake! Wake up! You are a great hero, a top-notch master in the martial arts world. You can't be defeated by hallucinations so easily!"
Xiao Baishu's eyes flickered with a struggle, but he still couldn't break free from the illusion.
