Lan Tingrong only met Feng Guang once five years ago, and Feng Guang was just a little girl at the time, so he and Feng Guang were not exactly close. However, he had met Gu Yan several times.
He said, “Your Majesty and the Prince have traveled a long way. I have already ordered people to prepare tents for Your Majesty and the Prince to rest. As for the imperial physician and provisions, I will arrange them.”
“Alright, let’s rest for now.” Feng Guang said casually, arms crossed, then pointed to the two soldiers behind Lan Tingrong, “However, I want these two to serve me.”
The two soldiers stood there dumbfounded, heads bowed.
The empress arrived and immediately told her fiancé that she wanted two men to serve her. How impatient she was!
The crowd murmured amongst themselves, but dared not utter a word.
Lan Tingrong said, "Your Majesty, these two are my assistants who are drawing battle maps for me."
"Assistant? You can just find two more people. Listen carefully, it's just you and you. Come with me." Feng Guang pointed and, led by another deputy general, entered the tent.
Lan Tingrong's face was tense, but the smaller of the two soldiers gave him a reassuring look.
Ke Huai gazed at the Empress's retreating figure, unconsciously twirling the long flute in his hand.
Gu Yan smiled casually and said, "Is Young Master Ke feeling relieved?"
"What did Your Highness say?" Ke Huai looked confused. "Please forgive me for not understanding."
“If you want to leave, I can give you a sum of money and guarantee that the Ke family will not cause you any trouble. If you want to stay by the emperor's side for a long time…” Gu Yan smiled gently, “Young Master Ke, I believe you have also seen that His Majesty’s interest in you will not last long.”
After speaking, Gu Yan didn't even look at Ke Huai's changing expression, and he also walked into the scenic tent.
Ke Huai stood still, gripping the long flute in his hand tightly, motionless for a long time.
Inside the tent, Feng Guang sat in a chair, resting her chin on her hand on the table. When she saw Gu Yan enter, she smiled and said, "Uncle Wang, I've found Feng Ya for you. How are you going to thank me?"
The pretty soldier standing in front of the table was none other than Xia Fengya, who had been away from the palace for many days, and the handsome man beside her was naturally Mu Liang.
Gu Yan was used to Feng Guang always bringing him up with Xia Fengya, so he ignored Feng Guang's teasing look and asked, "Why is the princess in the military camp?"
Xia Fengya glanced at Mu Liang, "After Mu Liang and I went to Dongyang City and resolved everything, we heard about the urgent situation at the border, so we thought we'd come and help..."
Feng Guang clicked his tongue, "What help can you be? You just don't want to go back to the palace."
"Royal sister, you must believe that I have a heart that is devoted to the country and its people! If you don't believe me, just ask Mu Liang!" Xia Fengya tugged at Mu Liang's sleeve. "Tell me, is what I'm saying true?"
Mu Liang seemed to regain his senses, and he asked blankly, "Didn't you tell us to come and serve you?"
"What? Didn't you think I was frivolous? Now you want to serve me?" A smile spread across her beautiful face.
"Nonsense!" Mu Liang regained her composure and said angrily, "It's been so long since I've seen you. I thought you'd improved a bit, but I didn't expect you to still be so frivolous!"
Gu Yan chuckled lightly, "Young master, I think you should know that you are speaking to His Majesty of Dongyun Kingdom."
Gu Yanxiao appeared refined and harmless, but Xia Fengya was terrified. She quickly said, "Uncle, please don't take offense. Mu Liang comes from a martial arts background and doesn't understand court etiquette. He didn't mean to offend my elder sister!"
