An Tong noticed her subtle movements, but he didn't say anything. Feng Guang was a little mistaken; he had actually received flowers before, and often at that. However, those flowers were all received when he was in the hospital. Receiving flowers from someone without offering condolences was a first for him, and the feeling was somewhat novel.
Feng Guang was still staring at him with wide eyes. He smiled and stepped aside. "Would you like to come in and sit down?"
"Okay!" She nodded, just what she was waiting for. When she went inside, she realized that his home had a classic and minimalist style. The furniture, decorations, and the crystal chandelier overhead were all in soft, warm colors, making it look very cozy.
But it's too spacious.
An Tong, leaning on his cane, sat back down in his wheelchair. He placed the red rose in a vase and turned back to say, "Miss Xia, please make yourself at home."
"Okay." Feng Guang sat on the soft sofa, and after curiously looking at everything, she cautiously asked, "Is your home... just for you alone?"
“I live with my mother, but she’s away on a business trip these past few days, so she’s not here.”
"Oh? So these past few days..."
An Tong smiled at her concerns, "The cleaning lady comes every day, and my family doctor comes every few days as well."
Upon hearing this, Feng Guang did not breathe a sigh of relief; instead, she lamented that if he had no one to take care of him, then she could take care of him—what a wonderful opportunity to strengthen their bond!
"You came to see me because of something?"
“I heard from other people living around here that you are a student at Mingcheng University.”
“Yes.” An Tong nodded. He was already a senior in college this year.
"That's great! Mingcheng University is so hard to get into, your grades must be really good, so... could you tutor me?" Feng Guang put the books on the table and looked at him pitifully.
To be honest, judging from her truancy, you wouldn't think she's a studious person.
An Tong glanced at the math book on the table and asked with a smile, "Is there anything you don't understand?"
Feng Guang smiled brightly and flipped to a page. "I don't quite understand this part... and this part too! This part!"
In the end, there wasn't a single part of the book she understood. She didn't listen to much of the explanation either, as she was too engrossed in his deep, resonant voice and staring blankly at his slender fingers holding the pen.
After explaining another problem, An Tong put down her pen and asked softly, "Did you understand my explanation?"
"clear!"
"Then please repeat it again, shall we?"
"Huh?" She was stunned.
"Didn't you make it clear? Just repeating it again shouldn't be difficult."
"This...this..." She didn't understand a thing! She was too busy staring at his good looks!
Feng Guang was so embarrassed she was about to break out in a cold sweat when, thankfully, An Tong's phone rang. This call saved her, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
An Tong answered the phone, "Hello, this is An Tong."
Feng Guang didn't know what the other person said, but he saw that the other person's expression changed, and the relaxed smile disappeared, replaced by worry.
"I understand, I'll go to the police station." After hanging up the phone, An Tong looked at Feng Guang and said apologetically, "Ms. Xia, I think the tutoring will have to stop here. I have to go out."
Feng Guang immediately stood up. "You're going to the police station? I'll go with you!"
He politely declined, saying, "It's so late, you should go home instead of coming out with me. Don't let your parents worry."
“I’m worried about you going out so late by yourself. You don’t know how many single men get into danger walking alone at night. Besides, my parents aren’t home, and I don’t even know if they’ll be back tonight. They don’t know what I’m doing, so they won’t worry about me.” She winked mischievously. “Anyway, even if you don’t let me go, I’ll still go with you.”
An Tong suddenly felt a headache.
