Chapter 28 Conquering the Emperor of the Enemy Country

"I haven't spoken to His Highness the Ghost King, but I've known everything about him for a long time." Feng Guang remained calm and composed. She had learned about the male lead from the system, but no one would doubt that a young girl would actively inquire about her fiancé's deeds.

The man hummed in agreement, seemingly accepting her statement. "Miss Xia, what is your relationship with His Highness the Ghost King?"

"His Highness the Ghost King is away fighting battles all year round. Although he is also my cousin, we can only meet once a year at a few palace banquets." In other words, their relationship is not very good.

"Then you still need to work harder," he said with a half-smile, "to try to capture the heart of His Highness the Ghost King."

No need to trouble yourself.

Her expression remained calm, while he chuckled softly and closed his eyes, feigning sleep. The carriage was quiet for a moment, until about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, when an anxious voice came from outside, "Master, please get out of the carriage. I will lead the pursuers away."

The man opened his eyes, released Feng Guang's pressure points, but quickly silenced her by pressing her speech point. He then grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of the car. Only then did Feng Guang see that the driver was a handsome young man.

"Ah Qi, meet up in the Guanghe Desert."

"Yes!" The young man named Ah Qi drove off in another direction.

This place was originally a desolate forest. The man pulled Fengguang down behind a tree, his hand still tightly gripping her wrist, making her feel weak all over. Before long, a group of people appeared. The leader glanced at the tire tracks, waved his hand, and shouted, "It's this way, keep chasing!"

This group of people came and went quickly, chasing after them on horseback, leaving only dust in their wake.

After the person left, the man took Fengguang's hand and walked out. He praised, "Not bad, you're quite well-behaved."

The scenery is silent.

He suddenly remembered that he had silenced her by pressing her pressure point, so he released his grip on her hand and reached out to release the pressure point. Feng Guang immediately coughed, took a step back, and asked, "Who exactly are you?"

"In short, he's not a good person." He smiled frankly.

He was unwilling to answer, so she didn't dwell on it. She frowned and said, "Now that you've left the capital, can I go now?"

"Not yet. You can only leave after I safely reach the Guanghe Desert." The Guanghe Desert is the border area between the Dawei Kingdom and the Guangliu Kingdom.

“You didn’t say that at the palace gate.”

"You believe what men say? You're still so naive." He shook his head with pity, which made the girl in front of him bite her lip in anger. He laughed and said, "Alright, let's set off. Don't even think about running away, or I'll get upset and just impale you on a sword and take you away."

Feng Guang's body trembled, but he cursed inwardly, "You pervert!"

They were only on the outskirts of the capital. To get to the next town, they had to pass through this forest. In the middle of the night, the moonlight seemed to carry a chill. The wind blew, and the shadows of the trees swayed and rustled.

Feng Guang had been keeping about three steps away from him, but couldn't help taking another step closer. Compared to unknown creatures like ghosts, humans were more reassuring, even if this man wasn't a good person.

After walking for an hour, they finally came across a dilapidated temple. As if only then did they notice that the young lady was exhausted and was walking unsteadily, the man took pity on her and said, "Let's spend the night here."

Feng Guang breathed a sigh of relief. He started a fire, leaned against the wall, closed his eyes, and ignored her completely, as if he wasn't worried at all that she would run away. Or perhaps it could be said that he was confident that she couldn't escape.
