Feng Guang had no recollection of what happened after she frantically called out Xu Wang's name that day. She only knew that she seemed to have taken a nap, and when she opened her eyes again, she was already lying on a soft, large bed. Looking at the crystal chandelier hanging on the ceiling, she belatedly realized that this was not her room. She immediately sat up in bed and anxiously called out again, "Xu Wang!"
Soon, a man walked in from outside. He sat down by the bed, took her in his arms, and said gently, "I'm here."
“Xu Wang…” Feng Guang wrapped her arms around his neck, pressed her cheek against his chest, and cried, “I…I was captured by Cecil, did I…did he…”
Xu Wang knew what she was worried about, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly. "No, you're fine."
Her memory ended abruptly with the fall to the ground, so she had no idea what had happened to her during the time she returned to the room. Now, hearing him say that he hadn't been... well, you know... by Cecil, she felt much better.
"That's good..." she choked out. She was terrified in the sewers, but she didn't shed a single tear. Now, being held in his arms, she felt so wronged that she could only vent by crying. "Your supposedly most heavily guarded prison is not guarded at all. Prisoners can walk around freely!"
"Yes, it's my fault."
She cried, "You're the warden, of course it's your fault!"
"Yes, Feng Guang is right." Xu Wang agreed in a good-natured manner. In short, no matter what she said, he would agree that it was right. Thinking about it, her petite body was tightly curled up in his arms, and she cried in that soft voice, which really softened his heart.
"You're not allowed to leave me behind again... what if... what if I get caught again? The way your world treats women is truly terrifying!"
"This time I didn't think things through. From now on, I will never leave you alone." Xu Wang raised his hand to smooth her hair, placed a kiss on her forehead, and gently patted her back, tenderly comforting her.
Cecil and Xiao Xiaohui came out of the East Tower, which was something he hadn't expected, but fortunately, he arrived in time and the little girl wasn't hurt.
Her beautiful eyes were misty with tears as she sobbed, "How is Cecil...?"
"Don't worry, he won't appear in front of you again."
Her first instinct was that Xu Wang had killed him. She immediately pulled away from his embrace, sat up straight, and grabbed his hand nervously, asking, "You killed him? He was an important prisoner of the Alliance. Won't something bad happen if you kill him?"
"Is Feng Guang worried about me?"
"Nonsense!" She bit her lip again, crying even louder. "It's all because of me! You've killed the prisoner you were supposed to be guarding. What if you end up in jail? I don't want to live like a widow!"
Her cries were clearly heartbreaking, but the reason she cried made Xu Wang chuckle: "Maybe... Feng Guang can go to prison with me, so you won't be a widow."
“You…” she sobbed, “you can even bring your family members to jail with you?”
The word "family members" successfully pleased him, but since ancient times, how could one bring family members to prison?
He wiped away her tears with his cool fingertips, his heart softening at the thought that she really wanted to go to prison with him. "Don't cry, I won't be punished. No one in this world has that right."
