Chapter 1776 Conquering the Dark Wizard

Feng Guang's unease had reached its peak. She instinctively covered the back of her hand, which had felt burning hot the night before, and quietly took a step back. She didn't think there was anything wrong with her, but reality seemed to be different…

“Your Highness, please forgive me.” Father Phil stepped forward, stood before Feng Guang, and slowly raised his hand.

Feng Guang inexplicably felt a urge to escape, but she was surrounded by soldiers, and even the maids behind her were whispering among themselves. Having lived on this continent for so many years, she knew what awaited her if she were branded with the name of darkness.

Father Phil chanted a spell, and light appeared from his hands. Feng Guang quickly felt a faint golden glow covering his body, and at the same time, the burning pain returned.

Even though she could endure the pain and tried to appear normal, the black aura emanating from her body was visible to ordinary people.

Father Phil withdrew his hand, his tone one of surprise, "Your Highness...you really are the Dark Saintess!"

With just this one sentence, Fengguang's fate was sealed.

Arno raised his hand, "Arrest the Dark Daughter!"

Immediately, two soldiers grabbed Feng Guang's shoulders. Feng Guang was no match for their strength. She knew very well that she could not mention Herman's name. Once associated with darkness, she would face judgment from the Vatican. As for her parents... if her parents really wanted to save her, they would not have allowed Arno to bring people over.

She understood from the beginning how much power "belief" held in the hearts of these people. On the mainland, it was not uncommon for parents to accuse their sons of being "heretics" for not believing in the Church.

She looked at Arno, "Did Richard send you to arrest me?"

Arno, a knight of the Spring Country, suddenly volunteered to capture her, and she naturally thought of Richard.

“It’s not His Highness the Prince.” Arno dismissed Feng Guang’s guess. Richard was still in bed being cared for by Ariel; he wouldn’t have time to concern himself with this. Arno asked again, “Your Highness, is there anything else you wish to say?”

For example... looking for a certain person.

Feng Guang, however, fell silent.

Arno waited for a long time but she didn't speak, and he knew she wasn't going to say anything. He said coldly, "Lock her in jail."

No one dared to rush out and stop Feng Guang from being taken away.

The news that the noble princess was actually the Daughter of Darkness had spread like wildfire, and the entire country was discussing it. Some said the king had done a good job of putting his own family aside, while others wondered when the Daughter of Darkness would finally be executed.

Feng Guang's plan was correct; she would become someone everyone hated. For example, she was currently imprisoned, and a jailer spat and said, "A princess with black hair and brown eyes... I knew this was a strange thing. So you are the daughter of darkness, yet you have enjoyed a life of high status for over a decade, and we all have to bow to you. Hmph, just wait for your day of death!"

The jailer put down the bland, watery food and left indignantly.

Feng Guang was used to this kind of person. In the two days she had been locked up, she had seen many people mocking and ridiculing her. But she just couldn't stomach the colorless "food" in the bowl.

Feng Guang huddled in the corner, playing with the withered grass on the ground, until another figure appeared in front of her. She thought it was someone else coming to mock her, but after waiting for a long time, she didn't hear any sound. She looked up and saw Arno standing outside the cell door.

She didn't understand what he wanted to do there, and of course, she wasn't curious about it, so she looked away.

"Your Highness," Arno finally spoke.

Feng Guang listened but still didn't look at him. She seemed bored, so she said listlessly, "You'd better stop calling me princess. I'm not a princess anymore."

The moment she was imprisoned, her title of princess was gone. It must be said that although Feng Guang was a pampered young lady, she adapted to reality faster than many others.

Since she didn't want others to call her princess anymore, Arno didn't hesitate to call out, "Wendy."

Fengguang's hand trembled. Apart from her parents and Herman, she had never heard anyone else call her that. She looked up again and said angrily, "You are not allowed to call me that."

"Then what should I call you?" Arno seemed to laugh, though it was hard to see clearly in the dim light. "Like that good-for-nothing Richard called you 'Beautiful Miss'?"
