"I want it." Xiaoxiao said blankly, her blinking eyes seeming to write the words "want" and "desire" in big letters. "Uncle, please give it to me, I'll give it to my mom. Mom likes flowers, she'll be happy."
The man smiled and placed the flowers in her hand. "Xiaoxiao is such a good child."
"Thank you, Uncle!" Xiaoxiao was about to run back with the flowers when she suddenly stopped. She asked curiously, "Uncle, how did you know my name is Xiaoxiao?"
“I watched you grow up, so of course I know your name.” The man squatted down in front of her, at eye level. He said, “Xiaoxiao, shall we play a game?”
He said he watched her grow up, but Xiaoxiao had no recollection of ever meeting him. She just thought this uncle seemed like a very kind and approachable person, so she nodded, "Okay, what should we play?"
"Give this box to your mother." He took out an exquisite wooden box, handed it to Xiaoxiao, and then said with a light laugh, "If your mother asks, just say I'm waiting for her outside."
What if Mom didn't ask?
“If not…” he considered it seriously for a moment, “then let’s play this game again next time.”
"Okay!" Xiaoxiao quickly ran back.
The man stood up, watched as Xiaoxiao returned to the woman's side, and then glanced at the woman's quiet back as she sat in the chair. He smiled slightly, turned around, and walked out of the church.
Almost simultaneously, Feng Guang, who had just opened the box, immediately stood up. She looked towards the door, but there was no one there. Soon, she walked outside as well. After taking a few steps, she remembered to pick up Xiao Xiao. When she turned around, she saw Lu Heng, who had finished his oath, holding Xiao Xiao's hand. Lu Heng smiled and said, "I really like this child. Let her play with me for a while."
In Xiaoxiao's eyes, Lu Heng, dressed in a pure white wedding gown, was like a fairy from a fairy tale, and she was thrilled to be holding Lu Heng's hand.
Fengguang moved her lips, but in the end she only said thank you and ran out of the church without lingering.
Right there on the grass, next to the fountain, she saw the man. Then, three steps away from him, she stopped, a sudden wave of fear making her unable to move.
He stood there, smiling gently. It wasn't a dream, because she clearly heard his voice. He softly asked, "Fengguang, did you miss me?"
"Qi Wei..." She suddenly found her strength and ran to him, throwing herself into his open arms. She smelled his familiar scent; even after so long, she still remembered it. Tears quickly streamed down her face uncontrollably. She said uncertainly, "Qi Wei, you're still alive...you're still alive..."
"Yes, I'm still alive." He wiped away her tears and lowered his head to kiss her lips again. He hadn't kissed her in so long, and the sweet taste made him reluctant to let her go. After a long while, the lingering kiss ended, and he looked at her and smiled softly, "I'm so glad that Fengguang came to find me."
Inside the box was just a white seashell, a seashell engraved with her name. This seashell was the one he had given her three years ago, but she had left it behind in her haste to leave. Now, he had personally returned it to her.
Feng Guang gripped his hand tightly. "Tell me, what exactly happened? I clearly... I clearly saw Nangong Zhe's gun hit your heart... and you were right in front of me..."
“The heart of an ordinary person is here,” Qi Wei said, moving her hand slightly off-center on his chest. “But mine is a little off-center.”
"Then...then why did you only come to find me now?" This was the only thing she couldn't accept. "Do you know that I thought you were dead? You didn't send me any news. Weren't you worried...won't you worried that if I had let you go for the past three years, I would have married another man?"
